Here's a guy who enjoys his work!
« on: April 08, 2008, 12:07:04 am »
I just love watching this. It's not only the skill of the guy, it's also the fact that he MUST be having fun whilst doing it.

He is good at the circles i do them sometimes and use both hands. Thanks to terry who showed me at windex a couple of years ago.
Although im not as good as that chap as i don't do any shop windows so don't really get much practice in.

Can't do that with WFP  ;D

It looks very good but if you were to go and actually check those windows afterwards I bet you would find they were rubbish.

Still, he's faster than me.

He'd be really fast if he could stop himself going round in circles.

I wonder if he checks to see if any body is in.

I have a few windows where I use the two handed technique as seen in that clip and they come up spotless, so I think Vince is wrong in his assumption that they will be rubbish.
Once you practice it you can do a perfectly good job.

Yep, same here.

Need a really good condition rubber though, no more than a few days old.

Does he not clean the top half of the window?  And I thought the idea was to remove dirt, not simply remove the soap you just put on.  What does he do about baked on bird poo?  Useless skill to be able to clean that fast.

Yea I clean that way too, the windows are spotless too. Don't do it all the time cos you use too much energy. I like to  do it on office windows and always get a comments on how impressed they are.
It is a skill and comes with practise.

Adam ;) ;)

Tried it today on some large patio doors, it's not as difficult as it looks. Only thing what I find difficult is getting in the top right corner, I get stuck somehow, gotta practise it more. I don't have too many houses where I can use it on, so never really practised it. :)

It does look very impressive. To bad nobody was in.

I'm not sure if I would use it on 8 weekly cleans, but it seems to work all right, I have an Ettore porcupine sleeve, they are brilliant I must say.

;D funny he looks fast but not really, spends far to much time on the glass in one area, its not just your hands that have to be so as one but your mind and body, and then move to the next window,I have spent some 13 years or more improving this way, with only the latter years really showing how fast it can be done,
the truth for me is,I just wished some one would design a squeegee and rubber that would let me go as fast as I want to,sadly there is not one on the market,
its like putting a racing driver in a mini, when he needs jet ;D I am doing th best that I can with the tools I can only use,yes i m blaming the tools! ;D someone please design me a super fast 12 incher please!

I've seen this video before, I think he poles the top section.  Seeing as they are shop windows they are probably done at least once a week maybe once a day, so no bake on birds doodee.

You've probably been asked many times but what squeegees do you use, what rubbers and what sizes?

Simon.

Shops like that are 3-4 times weekly, you could do a spot on job like that.Any large panes like that i always clean 2 handed otherwise it would take ages doing panes that size.
