How long for a conservatory clean?
« on: April 07, 2008, 08:24:55 pm »
First clean, roof, finials, sides? I find even a pretty clean one takes me ages to get it to my standard. I usually end up buffing the gutters with upvc cleaner to get the grey run stains off, buff the sills and the horizontal bars on the edges of the roof and the lower sills at ground level on all glass ones. Probably takes me an hour.  :-\

last conservatory clean i did took me 7 hours. Taking all guttering off to clean in and out, upvc parts, roof, upvc cleaning, windows.
Though for standard roof upvc and windows, about 1-2 hours mostly.

how secure ar ethe finials on top of roof. I'd imagine push on these too hard with brush and they come right off

not very secure, they just either slot and clip in, or are screw on. Some of these cheap and nasty conservatories, the plastic parts on the front werent even glued on, they just pulled off, the guy said he though the conservatory would blow away in the high wind. Most parts just slot in. I really dont know why they dont make conservatories strong enough to stand atleast on the support posts along the roof, so you can get up there. Most of them you would smash straight through. Useless poorly made english rip off manufacturers.
I hate those conservatories where the garden fences are about 4.5 inches away from the windows, i wasnt going to do them, so i left the upvc and squeezed down the side to do them. Whats the point they may aswell be brick walls.
