Has anyone recently advertised for a supervisor?  If you have and been successful in recruiting someone could I ask you to please post your add on this board as I have been advertising for a week now and no takers.

Perhaps I am asking the wrong question re advert for supervisor.  Does anyone have a template for advertsing for their staff which could be changed for different staff?

I have been struggling to find any staff, seems no one seems to want the work.

where have you been advertising? we mostly advertise in the jobcentre but not had any calls for about 4 weeks.

I have advertised in the job centre, adverts in my car as posters, adverts in all the local shop windows, asked all my staff if they no of anyone looking for cleaning work, but cleaners seems to be in very shop supply at the moment.
Have you any further ideas where I could advertise.

Unfortunately that's the world we live in Julia, they don't want to work in case it affects their benefits. Just have to keep plugging away until someone decent comes along, they are very few and far between though

If you are offering the minimum wage (not saying you are) loads of people will not go for it as they will lose out in the long run.

I often had trouble getting good staff but my solution was to always pay above min wage and this helps with retention also single parents and others on inc sup can legally earn  £20 pounds per week without it affecting their benefit and i have six that i use on a regular basis (one has just gone full time with me) This allows them to 'try' work,earn an extra £80 a month, and, you get to know them before a commitment is made to work.
I have them working on an as and when required basis where they know that there are two days of the week that i may call on them to work and i have two assigned for every day except sunday giving me great emergency or short notice cover.

           I agree with Jonathan - you might be best off going down to your local job centre and having a look and see what other firms are willing to pay per hour for a supervisor/cleaner.

Hi All
When I advertise for staff I dont state what wage I am willing to pay, I always say negotiable or dependant on experience. 
My general cleaning staff are not paid the min wage so why would I pay a supervisor that sort of money.

Hi l worked for a  large cleaning company in Bedford l was there for over 7 years when they put adverts out they would put the price per hour and how many hours they were applying for 2 or 3 hours per night they always seem to get phone calls since l left there they have had 4 people who went to do my old job you could start them on a lower rate and then after a short time give them a pay rise good PR
