If i do any for family which would be like every 2 years i do it for free.

I use them to test new equipment out on that way if i mess up they can't moan as they get it for nothing.

sorry to hear of anyone charging their parents for any job , regardless of trade

My mum died a few months ago, and i wish she was here so i could do anything at all for her.. at any time .. for love.

sorry for being dismal lads...

look after your parents, you only get them once.

Gary.

Simon

I would say its a miracle , my mother died 2 years ago aged 56, she had more to worry about than me leaving my working day to clean her windows.

She wouldnt of expected me to either, and if she would of asked she would of insisted of paying me.

It was easier for her to have the local window cleaner do them for her for £5.00.

Why do so many people want to jump on there moral high horse ?

Do what you want to do, not what everyone else thinks you should do

not moral high ground,  its  pretty obvious to any levelled headed caring person, wether parents like it or not....that a son would do anything to help parents.

to make their life easier, as they did for you when you were young,

cant believe some people are so bloody hard and uncaring to be honest.

my favourite house to be cleaned would be my mothers.. free... i loved being able to help in any way. she lived alone , but that would not have made a difference if she didnt.

morale high ground.?

parents are parents.

whats morals got to do with blood.

but having

charging your folks is disgusting

my parents home is huge, takes 45mins wfp and I wouldn't ever think of charging them - I'd get a clip round the ear, and deservedly so. without your parents you wouldn't be here.

unbelieveable.

oh and I don't charge any of my family, 4 sisters and a brother, no way would I ever charge.
I've never been to bed with an ugly bird but I've woken up with loads!

thanks gazza - I'm not suggesting you should 'have' to clean your folks home but if you are in a position to o it then you should.

However I should point out that say a newby starts up - why shouldn't his family etc pay him for his services, he's trying to start a business.  I just think most of us have been at this long enough, and are well enough estabished that to charge for family is just out of order.

catch my drift?

I don't do my mum's windows although she only lives a mile from me. She prefers to have them done properly!

how much did your parents charge to raise you  and feed you for the first fifteen years of your life. We all have to make a living but charging your own parents ????????

Firstly I wouldnt have the cheek to put my hand out to collect it, And secondly THEYRE YOUR PARENTS !!!

If my parents were still here I would love to 'waste' my time cleaning their house...just so I could be close to them....

No offence meant to anyone...

It costs about £250000 to raise up a child to the age of 17.

I'd have to clean my parents house (£15) almost 17000 times. That would be mean 3 years of cleaning your folks windows everyday.

I suppose we all do them a bit like mates rates but for mums and dads house's we keep too special prices, well i do anyway. But now my dad has had a huge extension and i've said i'll be putting the price up by a quid, Do you agree that i'm running a business not a charity (have not put the price up in 3 years.) or do you think i'm being a tight git and should keep the price at the same rate? ???
