Although mum get it's for nowt twice(ish) a year I do charge my missus!
She's always nagged me about the state of our windows: " You're a window cleaner...spend all day doing for other people...blah blah blah"
Me: They pay me..you don't"
Her: "OK I'll pay your going rate, how much?...£20?"
I take her £20 and give it to my daughter....who then doesn't have to go to mum for pocket money.
So it's swings and roundabouts...the games we play in the Knight household

God i feel bad
No need to feel bad about it. It could be that it reflects well on them as they may have brought you up with a keenly honed business instinct. The fact is that I've never actually cleaned my parents' windows. By the time I had started window cleaning (at 34), my mum had been dead 16 years and my father had moved hundreds of miles away some years before - so I'm hardly a good example.
Your parents are probably proud of you which is a lot better than mine would think of me. It's not just about the windows. It's about all the rest of it too.

my dear mum, used to say... gary are you happy cleaning windows, previously was in sales with nice company car and a nice tie
...
i said never been happier mum.. although she always insisted if i was happy then so was she...
but i knew deep in her heart she wasnt really.... thats one of ... maybe the main reason i will make a success of this .
but i was striving to do it while she was here...
i know she is watching so i will continue to do my best...
sorry lads ... going on a bit and off topic,.
