Its brilliant to have all that power after my 40 psi ... but the setting on nuber one is very strong ... all the other things are fine... and it gets obviously more powerful as i move up the settings.....

is there a way to turn the default setting down so i can regulate my own flow to begin with.?.. as number one is too  strong

or is it me , being used to my old weak pump?

number 1 too strong for me too, as far as i see it the varistream is just an expensive on/off switch.
It's supposed to keep a constant flow at any height, does it? NO. infact mine's all over the place, different from one day to the next without touching anything. Just cannot get a reliable steady flow, it's either too much or not enough. All the varistream has done for me after 6/7 weeks of using it is cost me time & hassle fannying around trying to just get a happy medium. What you save in water with the pressure switch you then lose when it blasts out on reconnection. lower the pressure setting to prevent this & the thing cuts out willy nilly. crap if you ask me.
Maybe williamson pumps could reply to explain exactly what "intelligent" means?

good point.... i did not expect the pressure to build and blast the water out after hose tap off ,,, then on again.... may just as well not have it... if number one is too strong... as i cant use any other setting and number 1 is wasting me water...

i rung pure freedom... they mentioned the pressue switch ( holding down - +)..... but that brings a menu up,... and i dare not mess with the default settings..... but the pressure switch wont alter my flow will it ? only the cut out.

Here's how to change settings, provided by DJW

With the Varistream switched on - press+ and- buttons together for three seconds to display pressure setting
Release the buttons for 1-2 seconds then press together again for three seconds and the digit will flash
Use the + and - buttons to set a higher or lower pressure (best to adjust one letter at a time and avoid large swings in pressure)
Once the desired letter is displayed turn off the Varistream
When you switch back on it will have accepted the new setting. To confirm press both buttons together for three seconds and release.
Sounds complicated but in reality it's easy.


Oh, and the light, green= pump running,green flashing=low battery,red=pressure shut off achieved.

yeah the settings will only affect the cut off.  not the flow.

its pumping out at number on.   it bounces off the windows and wets me through... just paid a lot of money out so i def want it.....( post it on lol).....

It pees me off mind not being able to rely on suppliers & manufacturers to know what they are on with, it's time some of them got a serious grip!

numero uno too slow? you should see mine, it would have your eye out at 30ft!

seems odd that cuz ours are all new pumps and varistreams (January) as the others were starting to fail so replaced the whole lot.  have a look tomorrow and see just how far the stream goes before it hits the ground, if its less than half a mile turn it up a bit!

In theory no, but i noticed small changes in flow when i changed the settings. but then again, there always seems to be changes in flow for no apparent reason. Strangely i get more flow the higher the pole, then when lowered the flow drops without touching a single button. I got this having been led to beleive once i had a usable flow rate it would be just a case of switching on every day & having the same flow no matter what length of pole. Never happened yet. :

Can't it broke & i ain't tried fixing it yet. this one works, it just doesn't do what it should when it should & i hate hassle with unreliable equipment!

I do not use a varistream.
Just turn my tap down that i fitted from my tank.
Also standard 1/2" hose

My pump is still ok after 2.5 years and my rinse is great

For the guys with problems, are you using microbore or minibore?

I use 2 x 60psi Flowjet pumps with 2 x 100 mtr microbore hoses, No varistream and No problems in 2 half years. The flowrate is perfect and I never have any leaks. Their is more Dust on the floor of the van then you would beleive.

WFP is very simple. Why complicate things with a varistream.
