I am probably 80% traditional, using wfp for high and awkward windows, basically through a di bottle and customers outside tap.

For my traditional work, i carry four old 5 litre detergent bottles filled with tap water so i always have water through the day.

Iv read before about people using pure water for traditional work.

Will this really make any difference?

Wont the detergent your putting in, simply 'pollute' the pure water taking away any advantage over tap water.

All water I use is pure, cant see the point of using tap water anymore.

Pure is cleaner than tap water so will make a difference how ever small.
I use gg4 with it, dont use sticky fairy anymore

I use window cleaning warehouse's own detergent, window shine i think its called.

I can see the theory behind the pure water possibly working, but is the difference actually visable?

I thought gg4 was for hard water and gg3 is for soft water..
Does it not matter which you use then for pure water?

i still use tapwater for trad ,pre mixed in a 20 ltr drum with squegee off
is it just me or does anyone else find that pure tends to snag

i cant really tell a diffrance when using pure for trad , ive been using ecover wasing up liquid for the last few weeks and this dont send the tds up much . like l.j.thorpe says it dos tend to snag .

pure  will really dry your hands out, it is really aggresive. I used it in the summer and it caused my hands to crack and they became rough.
No probs with tap water, leave it for WFP if you ask me.

damn right i never had probs with dry skin on my hands before wfp(jesus how gay does this sound : )but since november i have almost permanent splits in the skin on thumbs and fingers,never seem to heal properly,better in summer for some reason

For trad i tend to use customers own hot water, hot works better than cold and I use fairy also. But I carry two bottles, one watered down for application to the wet applicator, saves messing about applying small amounts of neat and then lathering up in bucket, Straight in bucket with applicator and a squirt down the length with the ready made solution then straight ont'tat glass, squeegeed off with pulex soft used at 14" followed by a steaming mug of tea.

wear gloves, I get the same problem, I have about 9 pairs of gloves got another pair today, I still can find the right ones and take them off I will keep trying.

tend to get most splits on top of right thumb and index finger.

Same here with the thumb I have started using latex gloves with Unger ones over the top.

I use pure and squeegee off because the only water I carry is pure. With pure you get very good results if you just put a drop of squeegee off in the bucket. You only need a drop because it suds up a lot better than with tap water.

You have to remember I live and work in the London area and the tap water is awful.

i used pure and squeege off IF i cant get some hot from the customer

I use pure in my bucket and use Evans High Class Hard Surface cleaner as a detergent. Leaves no residue behined in the glass unlike Fairy Liquid ( I havent used that for 5 years or more)
As regarding pure water snagging I havent noticed. I do think the windows stay cleaner for longer with pure in your bucket even with the detergent.

Squeeky is right it makes absoulutely no difference at all , by putting any detergent into pure water it becomes inpure , (that is as technical as you need!)

its not technical if you think about it, pure will give a cleaner finish thats just a fact 
If you want. :
You're just wasting it because you think it's magic water.
Put any detergent in it, and it's impure. Doh!

...you are both wrong think about what you are saying there, tap water has many solids in it, pure have 0, thats is not to hard to understand, I know putting gg4 in it will raise tds but not as much as tap water and gg4  there for pure gives better result!

But think about this and realise you're wrong...

You're not leaving the water on there, so it doesn't matter if it pure or not.
You could do it with brown water, and as long as it's all squeegeed off the finish is the same.

Don't beleive the hype.
