One of the lads left the pole unattended for a sec and it blew over with a gust of wind and broke section 1 of the pole after only 2 weeks of having it, Alex if you read this i did send you an email/tried too ring fri askin for a price for a new section 1 can you let me know as i need to order ASAP.

That's gutting 
I've done that in the past with a Universal pole, propped it up and as I turned my back it blew over, snapped the top section and ripped the aluminium gooseneck out, felt very unhappy with myself.

We can have one out by courier first thing Monday morning, should get to you by Tuesday. I will get Kirsty to contact you.

so these poles do break then, from what i had read ( mainly from luke ) they were indestructable ( or as close as you could get ), which to be honest was my main point in looking at them as i like the idea of things lasting ( my unger ali pole for example )

If the SL2 would have been at 44' or 60', and then blew over onto something on the ground, I can easily imagine it breaking. I think every pole would break under those same conditions.

They are very strong for the class of pole, but every pole has it's limits 

I have been using the SL2 for 10 months now and the joints are showing virtually no wear, but I do use PTFE protector regularly. They are greatly superior in longevity than converted fishing poles.

Shame you can't see one that has been in use for a good amount of time to compare the wear. Squeaky has one that he uses all the time on domestic work (and has had it for about 6 months), do you live near him?

If you fancy a trip to Cornwall you could have a look at my 10 month old one and even compare it against the Emporium pole that I also have.

cheers for the reply, it would be for a job i do 4 times a year, so wear and tear isnt a issue, it was mainly if i dropped a peice of pole on the floor ( for example ) on a fishing pole the end would chip ( i know its easy to stop and i have, a few wraps of insulation tape and it protects the ends really well )

I am interested in buying an SL-2 for the weight factor. But have never seen one in action, do you know if there is a product user in the NW of england that would let me see/try before I buy as 'tis a lot of money for something that may not be suitable for me.

It would be great to meet you.  Super-Lites have a shock-absorbing protecta-ring on the base of each section which does protect against alot of abuse.  I'm always dropping pieces when I'm using it (not from height!) and they survive very well.

I have checked with my Internet order records (I only have these, the Office will have all of the telephone orders on file) and the nearest client so far is in Preston, which is not that close to you. One of the problems is that some of these have been sold through distributors and we do not know where all the current users are. I will let you know if we find anyone closer.

At Windex on friday I had a few mates with me and was taking them around looking at different poles. We got to the Omnipole stand and they were displaying the Emporium Ultra Lite. Anyway basically my mates were really uni impressed that at how fragile the pole felt ( can squash the pole sections with your hand ) but the SL2 is nothing like that. The extension sections are just solid, Luke

I think youve misunderstood me  Was just stating a seperate fact about the SL2, that the extension sections are very tough! But the tapered sections on the SL2 dont squash like the Emporium, Luke

As this topic of Dans shows, all fishing type modulars can break under  different conditions, the fact that there is give or squash makes no difference to the work they do, and is designed into the poles to prevent breakage. If they didnt give they would break.
