I've had this happen to me, what really surprises me is the people that will cheat you if they know they can get away with it.

Don't you think he may have forgotten about the £10 due to the wc when he was organising the move back to Japan? Write it off and move on

yeah you can file a small claim against them. you'll have lots of papers to fill in, court fees to pay and will have to take at least half a day off work. you will probably win the case but then you will need to try to enforce the 10 pound owing. you could employ a bailiff, although that might set you back a few quid only for them to tell you they cant find the guy. now that you have spent a few hundred quid on top of your lost wages you might be wondering.... was it worth it all? take some comfort in knowing that you gave a good laugh to the judge, the court clerk who processed your claim, the bailiffs office and if he ever finds out about it, the customer.

Years ago, a customer went abroad for a few years to run a car sales company in the middle east.  He left owing me a few quid and rented his house out.  I was a bit put out by this lack of consideration - particularly as he had said he was going to send it to me.  Anyway, I continued cleaning several of the houses around about.  A few years later, I was parked outside his house having a sarnie when he came out and paid me.  Can't be sure but I reckon it took about 4 years in all.  It was a nice little bonus as I had written it off years before.  If the guy is renting his house out, have a look in a couple of years time to see if there are any signs that he has moved back in.

try and find his address then nip over there 2 collect your money.would be worth just 2 see the look on his face when you tell him youve come for your £10.
