How does your partner help you
« on: March 24, 2008, 02:11:24 am »
I Am building my round for a purpose, not to simply, give me a wage and settle with that each month... but to expand , eventually take employees.

Can i ask you , how does your partner help...( i dont mean wives or partners who clean windows) .

DO they listen, or take any interest?

Do they ignore you .. thinking GOD HE IS TALKING ABOUT WINDOWS AGAIN..

or do you get full support in every aspect, building, new customers and everything else.

Strange question  ???

Reverse it and ask how you help your partner, what answers do you come up with?

My wife does all my admin, arranges my daily jobs and phones the ones who need phoning the night before. Then when I get back she enters it all up on George and chases up the late payers.
She also delivers leaflets and canvasses door to door. On occasions she comes out on difficult jobs to hold the ladder for me and come the warm weather I am going to train her up on using the WFP.
What does she get out of it? She's sleeping with the boss.

My wife also helps with the admin and ordering and untill i had george she did my years accounts and does all the phoning around for insurance quotes etc...
On the odd occaision she has come to clean windows but this is usually on my very large properties so she can have a nosey at them  ;D
To be honest i couldnt do this without her help as she easily does the things i hate doing shes still not getting paid though!!!

Mine used to do all the paperwork and plan my round for the first few weeks until i got George. She still canvasses now and again but is sick of the sight of seeing me on this forum and giggling at my laptop! ;D

DO they listen, or take any interest?

She pretends to listen but only actually takes any real interest when I mention money

Do they ignore you .. thinking GOD HE IS TALKING ABOUT WINDOWS AGAIN..

Yes, mostly!

or do you fet full support in every aspect, building, new customers and everything else.

Sue gave up her career as an accountant in Jan and started working full time for the business, in essence she now takes all the enquiries, runs the diaries, does the payroll and basically keeps things running smoothly, or at least smoother than when I was trying to do it all and work as well.

strange ?why is it..... if i reversed the question , my answer would be , yes i help in all aspects, totally, from cleaning the windows to cleaning the floor, , helping with the lads, doing the washing, ironing and sorting bills, dont do much cooking, but i would certainly say i play my part.

My question is based upon, behind every successful man, is a strong woman.

I simply wondered where they were.

I know of a few successful business men who have a good strong wife at the hub of the business, who have virtually organised the main ins and outs of everything single handedly from the onset,... thats not to say that men are not successful alone,

Hence the topic, but i mainly posted it to see how much back up they get at home, in the day to day running of your business,

its nice to see some posts saying they are a team,

it works for some and not others i suppose,

but it has to be a plus if you can build the whole thing together.

My Mrs fills all my containers, when I come home I only have to take the empty ones out and reload the van for the next day. I used to hate filling containers on winter evenings, but by getting extra containers she can fill them when I'm out working. Dai
