Looked at a mock suede suite today, big make up oil stain on cushion, lady wants whole suite clleaned.
2 questions please,
1.
what is best to use on oil stain?
2. Can it be wet cleaned safely? (my tests show no shrinkage or colour loss, or watermarks etc)

This should wet clean with no problems at all, to tackle the oil stain i would try Eco spotter.

eco spotter for the oil stain, via a towel, then go for heat transfer, and be aware these mock suede fabrics can delaminate if over wetted,

Jacko,
Remember mock suedes are plastic and as such I would be very reluctant to put any heat on them.
Delamination is a problem but I would suspect this is caused by too much heat as well as too much water.
Also be very careful with ecospotter which is alcohol based and may also cause delamination.
Try the detergent/microsplitter approach first.
Cheers,
Doug

Thanks Guys! as always, appreciate your input..
Rob
I tested for shrinkage with a loose piece of the fabric cut off from the sample that was attached to the carcus
(there is a name for it but can't think of it). Otherwise i test by pinning, measuring, wetting and remeasuring.
Steve
Are you referring to the Espirit foam system? Flipping expensive but effective - have seen a demo.
General
I will clean as normal using M/S

think this is called alcantara, cleans a treat, keep solvents off as i believe it is belongs to the flock family, and you don't want the pile falling out!
keep detergents to a minumum, flush well and use ;Dplenty off dry strokes finish with towels. Don't worry about loss of shading effect, it will return when used. paul

Hi
During your pre-inspection do check for existing damage on the main body contact areas....
perspiration can weaken the glue bond and you may find existing evidence of tuft loss...(bald patches). These may have filled up with soil and show up as dark areas and can be incorrectly assessed as a stain...
when cleaned the loss is apparent and the, often lighter coloured, backing is exposed.
