I have a combo, my Mrs calls it the Tardis as I pull so much stuff out of it.

Been looking at the Dispatch type van because I want to get up the average drive and leave the portie onboard.

Looked at the Connect, nice but being newer they are a bit more expensive.

If I was more thick skinned I'd look at those Diahatsu weird looking thingies.

There wont be much advantage going from the Combo to a swb Transit Connect, you'd need the lwb version. The bigger Connect is also a little smaller (from memory) than the original style Dispatch/Expert/Scudo, so on space alone, these are a better buy.  The new Dispatch/Expert/Scudo are marginally bigger again, but not by much, and then there are the new lwb versions.

My advice, everything else being equal, is to go for the biggest van possible. you will always be able to put the space to good use.

There are plenty of CCers, like myself, running around in the original style Dispatch/Expert/Scudo's and getting good service and mpg from them.

safe and happy cleaning :)

I drive a partner which is small in comparison and I organise into this my Ninja, 1 air mover, a large hose bag, envirodri, Sebo, large steel sprayer, 2 9 litre sprayers, 2 buckets, 2 plastic accessorie/spotter boxes, multiple 5 litre solution botlles and its cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure, easier to park and the MPG is very good.

Mitsibushi Pajero, 2.5 turbo diesel, a beautiful faithful machine never lets you down and all it asks is a filter and oil change every year and its yours forever.

My Citreon Dispatch is up for sale shortly. 02 reg, 88,000 miles in excellent condition, metalic blue, Recent cam belt, new tyres, glow plugs, front new discs and break pads, full £500 services two months ago. Will be re-taxedend this month, re- MOT'd, with new exhaust. This van is surplus to requirements as I now have its new big brother the Realy. Very clean inside and out, the floor space in the rear has no flaking or scratches as it has been covered with a lined wooden floor (Now removed). I will be looking to get £2,500 plus what the exhaust and new tax costs. Ruuning like a dream, bursts into life at first turn of the key. Anyone seriously interested, give me a call 01257 277634.
Also still sign written in vinyl for carpet cleaning, so you may want to keep all or some as it is.
Dave.

I very recently had my 51 Dispatch on here for about 10 days and nothing - had couple of photos as well. Just one response asking could I put inside photos up - did that still nothing.
Sunday evening I put it on Autotrader on-line advert only - £14 for 2 weeks - 1st call Wednesday morning, guy came, agreed a deal, pound notes exchanged and he drove away.
Autotrader on-line adverts I fid get a good response.

I get a Relay on Sunday. Whats your Relay like - how old, miles etc - mpg? any issues?

Joe,

I saw your ad. my thought was that it didn't go because of the windows. Did your autotrader buyer have it in mind for touring like the previous owner.

Hi Mike
No - he was self employed working for an estate agent (or two) maintaining shut up property - water draining, shuttering up, etc. He said he will black the windows and put grills on inside as well.
He owned a Dispatch before so knew what he was looking for and it really was a good one.
I will miss those side and rear windows, great when you get to junctions that are not square on.
Dave_Lee now has his up for sale in the appropriate section on here.

They will think he's one of those speed camera vans and get lots of hand signals. ;D

Yes I quite like the idea of metallic blue too.  Dave strikes me as a steady driver and the sort of bloke who looks after his vans.

I've got a Vauxhall Combo. Like the idea of running the speedster from the van. Or possibly a small TM in the future.
