I need a 45ft pole for a 1 day job has anyone used one of these, apart from that it will get very little use. maybe once a month for 6 windows.
But it does have to be useable so feed back much needed, a £700. pole would just not be worth me buying as i would'nt see a return in money .

from looking at the picture it could serve its purpose to you as you only need it for a one day job , most aluminium poles that ive used have allways been good and lightweight , for the price and the use its goin to get id give it ago .

6.15 kg have you used a pole of this wieght. would it make the arms hurt after a while?

i use a 25ft Supposedly light weight aluminium brodex propole, and 25ft is as high as i would like to use it,i cant imagine useing a 45 footer, no thanks

looks like you going to have to spend some money mate , as i dont think you will find anything much cheaper thah that for the reach . is the pole going to be used at 45 foot all day ?  i dont think 6.15 kg is heavy but compared to a lot of poles i suppose it is , but then its a price issue for you . hope you find what you are looking for mate .

why not buy one of alex's modular thingies and use it for the rest of the month at your usual heights and for the once a month add the extra sections

I used a converted unger at 45ft - its wasnt easy to control. But the ebay one and the tucker have aircraft quality alu. I would take Brads offer or adapt a fishing pole.

hi,
   these poles you see on ebay are made by company called stream WFPs, their price buy it now is about 450 ish. What i said is true, though they are not that bad. If you look at their complete weight its quite heavy, close to what a 60ft CF pole would be. If you needed one just for odd jobs this would be ok, though i did not enjoy using it. They are fine once they are vertical, though if you wanted to use it fully extended i would think it would bend so much that the brush would not leave the ground. the clamps are glorified jubilee clips fixed to the pole, with slits in the aluminium to make it clampable, the downside also is that the sections swivel within each other so if you dont tighten enough they can move about, and take a few turns to do anything. They brushes are good quality with strong gooseneck, i only used mine for large conservatory roofs, and a few second story (thats ground 1st and second) but getting it to the height was not fun. Im not sure how you normally extend a long pole, maybe i was doing it wrong. These poles do not feel too heavy once vertical but i struggled to lift it, bending quite allot.
Not bad for a odd job cheap pole, not good for regular high work. I sometimes would take thickest bottom sections off, using it as a 25, 30 foot ish pole, not so bad then.
I would get a fairly decent CF one if i were you, but you could make do with one of these.

I bought 1 of these off e bay brand new......... its not about the weight you can cope with that,its the clamps and extending and retracting it...its not easy and its not quick.Ill sell you mine half price if you still want one.....lol.
