Hi , im after some commercial work and wanted to know how you word a contract, do you have to get a solicitor to draft one etc or is something you can type up yourself .

There's really no such thing as a contract, as far as I'm aware, when it comes to window cleaning.

But you may have to provide a method statement and risk assesment; is that what you mean?

No point in a contract! just have a on going agreement (last many years), then it doesn't have to be renewed and give them the opportunity to look else where

When we put a quote in, we get them to sign at the bottom (see below) this covers you if you had to take them to court for non payment

all my work at the mo is sub contracting with a few privates, the contracts he has are all large firms and i wanna piece of that cake , i was under the impression you get the contract for a year then at the end of the year if the customer is not happy with the current cleaner it goes out to tender and companys then send in there quotes

YES the big companies will indeed have there own contract! if you wont to do your own contact then that's fine but there is really no point, just give them your T&C is what is really needed, I have tender and won big government contracts, and the best type of commercial work is local on going agreement, it will last for years and put your business on a sound footing
