Best paying work

Can more money be earned by doing a few large houses a day or a lot of small ones, it all depends how much you charge i suppose. The problem with lots of small houses is you have to call round at night collecting your money.

I never collect

Tell them from the first clean to send it.  If they don't pay twice in a row, I don't clean till they pay - always done it that way.

Big houses don't always have that many more windows. I find i make the most money on the most compact days cleaning mid sized houses. If your round is really compact then collecting needn't be a chore either.

I do a lot of small terraced houses that're compact, and I have a couple of days doing fairly large houses in the countryside.

I prefer the large houses in the countryside, as they're better priced and I find them easier to do, but I still also like my terraced houses; we can knock each one out quick and the ones I have are mostly retired types that've bought their council house and go out of their way to make sure I'm paid; even paying for their neighbors who aren't in.

As for collecting, I collect on a Saturday morning on my compact work, but for my 'drive betweens', I leave a SAE with payment instructions after I clean.

So I use a mix of envelopes and trad collecting.

Like many have said, know what you want to earn per hour and work it out from that. price them correctly and it will not make much difference, however i find lots of mid new type houses close together does generally pay more.

Don't collect unless you don't mind working longer hours. I have everyones mobile number on my round and i text the previous night that i'm coming the following day. This ensures (95% of the time at least) that all windows are shut, any locked gates are left open and payment is left out for me. For the 5% who either forget or can't be bothered then they send me a cheque. Once you have set this up on your phone it only takes 5 minutes per night to do and costs nothing.

I do collect the odd house or two but thats because i like going there :-*
