Fella`s,I feel I`ve got to come in here and ask a few questions and possibly
Get on the wrong side of some members.Today, most of the day anyway,I`ve
Been using my converted `Venom`fishing pole working at approx.43 feet.
It`s a job I do every 2 months.The general finish was good.ie.no spotting.
What there was,was the spider and insect droppings that just would`nt shift
Because I couldn`t get enough `banjo`with my pole at that height, mainly because
Of the lack of strenth in a fishing pole.I only knew that there was insect remains
There when I went into the building to check the work out.The simple reason being
That I could`nt see from the ground that there some some there in the first place ! ! !
Before I go any further it`s a good job there was`nt any bird mess on that might have
Been there 7 weeks or more.I do wear, and have worn spectacles since I was 7 years old.
That I admit freely! How in blue blazes do you know what is on window glass at
45 feet?? Ya don`t because ya just can`t see, even someone with perfect vision. If
That`s the case,how can ya pole at anything up to 80 feet or more ? ? ? ? ? ? And
Know `hand on heart`you’ve got everything off? If ya can, then all I can say is,
`you’re a better man than I am Gunger Dinn `.Don`t misunderstand and get me all
Wrong,I would`nt want to be without my system, one of the best moves I `ve made
WFP.but I personally, with my experience believe the limitations have been exceded,
And that is totally wrong. The pressure on a brushhead or `pad`at some heights that
Have been talked about must be near zero psi. Also I agree with some members regarding
Health and safety issues.Only a fresh breeze in West Yorkshire today but at 43 feet
My `Venom`was at times bending like Rolf `Harris`s boomerang ! It was a bit `harrowing`.

forget poles at this height.

This is abseiling or hydraulic access

Even if you had a pole that would reach it would be very difficult to control
My friends call me Tuppence Clean

You cannot clean windows with a wfp
You cannot use a backpack
You cannot diy systems
You cannot use plain rainwater
You cannot use floor brushes
you cannot use fishing poles
you cannot clean above 40ft,60ft,88ft 120ft

Some of the cannots from the last 10 years.

I can !
If you cannot thats down to you.

if its a flat roof above the best way is to have mate on roof with fastener to brush .two reasons first safety as it won t fall on anybody ,and second to move brush side to side as up and down is nt a problem. if i could nt do this then i would nt be doing the job,but this is only me i m too old for heroics.

I have used modular poles at 7 and a half stories about 70 / 80 ft and it would not be my choice for either quality or H&S reasons but I would do it again if there was no access for mewp or no safer alternative.

I am not attacking Jeff's efforts as I think it is important that someone push's the envelope for all in the industry as that is how new techniques and equipment get developed.

Ian sorry for delay. I never had any trouble from my Map F16 second down £250 gets you to 41ft But I advise using the nuber 4 section from a Ron Thompson Zensorflex as a st goose neck. Or the CFS 16 as an alternative.  I have had mine  over 2 years.http://www.cheshirefishing.co.uk/shop/mappoles.htm

If you want to dip your toe in with modulars try the Ron Thompson Gangster £60 http://www.cheshirefishing.co.uk/shop/gangster.htm fitted with the goose neck as above. 29ft
Cheapest is the robust workable 21ft fibre glass Zensorflex from http://www.swiftys-fishing-tackle.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6583 £18.99
The history is on Matts DIY site under the Merry Christmas topic.
