look for a pattern if there is one. The most likely reason will be dirt above the frames or in the seals. Most will come up good enough eventually when they have had a good wash.

any particular type of window that gave you problems?
did you rinse really well?
what solution did you use as trad on them before?
did you ensure that the top of frames were really 110% clean
were there vents on these windows?

also if this is the first clean, what soap were you using when you were trad, you may have to wash all the residue off first, before they stop spotting.

I always give the frames a real good wash on the first clean, there will be lots of dirt in all the cracks, it may also help to go over the windows twice, if they're lead lites it can be even harder to get results first time, it will take a few cleans before you get perfect results every time, take longer to rinse the first few times too, takes more water at first but pretty soon you'll get results, stick with it m8!

Yup, the rinse maketh the job I find.

If in doubt, wait in the van for the job to dry and then have a look at where your runs are coming from.  This will give you a starting point for any changes you want ot make.  Spots are usually a lack of enough rinsing.  runs amy be from top frames, brickwork drips, splashes, old soap etc. 

If in doubt, rinse more.

thanks for all the info lads. Definately going to stick with it maybe just need to slow down and take my time.

Probably just need to do more rinsing I think the trouble is I thought I had a magic wand in my hand soon found out I didn't and actually need to put some hard work in.

Put your location on. Someone might offer to let you come out with them to show you how its done properly. It could be  case that your method is wrong. Im in West oxfordshire if thats any use to you?

Biggest shock i have found is how time consuming first cleans are. I always go round twice. Some local cleaners don't, i haven't checked their results but mine were pretty horrific if i tried once round only.

what area are you in ? one of us maybe able to help you out seeing you work ids eaier to see the problem.
