I would say new business is quiet but repeat customers and work through letting agents and office carpets via an office cleaning business are keeping us well and truely going.
There are some 'Price shoppers' calling which are 99% of the time a waste, take today for example.
Wife: "Good afternoon Willclean"
Cust: "Can I have a price for a bedroom"
(Here we go do you want it painted, cleaned or built) Wife: "Can I take a name please?"
Cust: "Why do you want that?"
(Here we go)Wife: "Because if I give you a price and you call back I'll know who i was speaking to"
Cust "I don't see why I should give you my name"
(No point in asking for the address then is there)Wife: "there's nothing funny involved but it helps to know who I'm talking to.
Cust: "Well I don't want to tell you my name I just want a price"
(God help us if we ever got to the point of asking size, age , colour etc)Wife: "Well this is clearly going nowhere so goodbye" AND PHONE DOWN
I know some of you will think why turn down possible work, but if a conversation starts off like this then there's no hope that the rest will go well.
