How Many Poles?
« on: March 01, 2008, 07:00:35 pm »
How many poles do you carry in your van and what sizes are they all?
the reason i ask is because im getting
1 x 27 ft reach 4 section telescopic fibreglass pole with VIKAN brush
and                                                                                                                                   1 x 4 ft 2 section pole complete with VIKAN brush for low level cleaning

didnt know if it was worth changing the 27 ft to a 30ft and getting a 18 ft aswel

1 x 2 section 12ft fibreglass Extender
1 X 22 ft Carbon fibre
1 x 32 ft Fibreglass
1 x 60ft SL2 but have extra base sections so can go a bit higher if needed

The 32ft pole will be replaced with a carbonfibre one when it needs replacing. Got it when I started as couldn't afford a carbon 1 back then....

Regards

Worn out 12' extender for conservatory cleans, twenty five ish foot fishing pole with spare sections (on it's last legs) and a thirty five foot Superlight (Sunday best pole only) for three storey and above. Will reduce this to two poles only eventually - SL-X and a Superlight

1 X 2 M unger style ( cleanteh own ali ) pole
1 X 6 M unger style ( cleanteh own ali ) pole
1 X 9 M unger ali pole

1 X RT fishing pole converted, this is what i ue all the time now, the other poles are just in the van for spares , of course the 9 M unger is used for higher work, sure its whippy and heavier ( though i tested the superlight and it wasnt far off the wieght of the unger )

18' Brodex Predator (crap)
25' Brodex Predator (crap)
36' Brodex Tree Trunk Pole! (Double crap)

My next pole is going to be a decent one, possibly a 44' facelift, or maybe the new Gardiner one.

Actually the predator poles are quite nice to use, but they deteriorate very quickly!  ;)

I used to carry about 6-7 poles for a two man vehicle, now we carry the following for each two-man vehicle:

1x 13ft X-Tel glass fibre pole.
1x 25ft carbon fibre pole (SL-X)
1 or 2 Super-Lite pole assembly.
