I work from the side door of a transit, because of the rubber seal I can shut the sliding door and lock the van with the hose sticking out to the hose reel.
Dont know what van you have but you can try this first.

Why buy a port? You could find a Grommit in the van floor and run a length of hose down and out to the back of your van just zip tie it to the chassis or whatever, stick a Hozelock with endstop on the end. Cheap as chips. I've gone through the floor under my reel so i can lock the van with the reel inside. Any holes can be plugged when you want to sell the van on or covered with ply flooring.

As above but get a sheet of steel plating drill a hole the size of a hoselock fitting and fix under the rear bumper of your van with rivets.

That way just attach hosereel straight onto the hoselock fitting and its fixed in place.

As promised, here are some photo's of the outside hose fittings on our Peugeot Partner Van.
You should be able to work out what we've done.
The 'inside' coupling is for filling the tank from an external RO. The 'outside' coupling is from the pump inside the van. The inside hole is provision for a third coupling if required, eg., if an RO is fitted inside the van then this would be used for the waste water outlet.
 
The couplings are fitted in an angle plate and secured to the towing eye with a plate and nut and bolt. The hole is exactly the size of the 1/2" hose to 1/2" male threaded adaptor thread and the Hoselok adaptor screws in from the other side and is a tight enough fit. The Hoselok hose pipe connector has been filled with silicone as it's only use is to ensure no dirt ingress into the fitting to contaminate the water to the brush. Once on site, this connector is removed and the hose connector pipe to the hose reel is coupled on.
 
It has been working successfully for the past 6 months. We have no problems with water pressure blowing the coupling off as the water pressure and flow is governed by a Varistream to a Shurflo pump.

If you have the port in the side of your van it saves a lot of bending up & down all day, i have mine set at waist height.I also have an electic connector fitted to the van.Think ahead save time and your BACK.

? How many times did/do we have to bend down with trad cleaning? How many times do you bend down in just everyday life? I know what you are saying, but your plugging a hose in, not lifting a 10l bucket.

I run a small lead to from my house and inside the van i have waterproof sockets from these i run a small heater (winter) and  i plug my charger into it to top the 2nd battery up.

In the first of those pictures would anyone know what the name of the fitting which goes from the hose to the back of the male hozelok fitting, hope this makes sense.
