« on: February 26, 2008, 05:14:42 pm »
Anyone heard of these before? Can they be run off domestic mains on 2 cords - if they were available in the UK?

They've even pimped a Mytee :o

It appears it can be purchased and delivered to this country.

Only problem I would see is the amount of amps,  20 on each plug so its quite a load on the ring main. Standard ring is 32amps.

One plug would have to go in a cooker socket or on a different ring main

I think in some properties tripping may be a problem when it fully cranked up.

Hopefully nobody takes these claims as serious....It is Kenny after all.

As long as you have 200 cfm arranged in air-parallel you will be fine with a Porty.

Cant comment about delivery from turboteck but I have emailed him twice about 10 days ago and got reply back wihin hours - just have to get timing right because of the time difference between uk-us).

Already a portable machine on the UK market that can deliver 320cfm - and it works , plus 420cfm with an add on.
so the solution is nearer then you think.

Not in the States!

I can't lie to a potential customer, when you take a high cfm 2 stage vacuum motor and load it, ie: extracting wet carpet, you are lucky to have 1/2 the cfm as advertised....a far cry from what I call fair.

At some point you are better off with less total vacuum motors, and larger ones at that, and putting your money into common sense instead of numbers on paper.
Get a moderately high cfm motor and a moderately high waterlift motor with a moderately high amperage draw...and you will never look back....and no, it won't be 50 quid, likely 200!

A properly designed extractor does not need a separate vacuum booster, cause you would never run longer hose on it than would be required for optimum performance (50-75'), it's portable for a reason.

Hi Joe,
It's nothing to do with time difference I was ripped off! and If you check out some of the U S bb's it's happened to them too! I buy most of my equipment direct from the states including 2 truckmounts and never had a problem and find the service they offer second to none.

Jeff

I've been looking at American sites for years and have come accross a fair number of powerful portables.

However !

Technically, you appear to be endorsing something I've been saying for some time, but have been repeatedly shot at, for saying.....................that good engineering can overcome sheer power.

I found this to be the case as long as 10 years ago and have said so on here, but the " big is best " mindset dominates and having invested massive amounts of cash unnecessarily, nobody is going to back down and agree, there is another, less expensive way to get equally good results, from a lower powered and cheap to run machine.

Forget machine power.......good wand technique, that's whats important, zigg-zagging with the trigger pulled is our biggest fault ( and don't say you don't do it ;) ;) )

only pull the trigger on the back stroke 1 wet 2 dry, them move across 50%, don't give the solution time to get too deep into the carpet or you'll never pull it out.

For years I did carpet cleaning as an extra to my cleaning business.
I used, and still have, a Numatic CTD575. I never overused dtergent, but to get a good reuslt (which is what I got) I had to do a lot of work, and I mean a lot of work - and I am the wrong side of 21 for that (then I was wrong side of 51).

Now I have a more poweful machine, I'm not afraid to do the work to get the result I am happy with. The difference is now (and am approaching 61) is the I am less tired at the end of a working day because , quiet rghtly, the machine is taking a lot of the work load..

I think the years of struggling with a small machine is now paying off.

Well said Mr Halliday.............., if the tools are used correctly and you don't drench the carpet, you will get very acceptable results.

I know some will disagree as they think a carpet is not being cleaned properly if you dont saturate every micro millimetre of pile.

touche'  I concur technique is more important than machinery.
I must say on the subject of Yank portables, I'm too terribly impressed with all of our goofy lil' designs, like 4 - two stage motors in series....what were they thinking?

Since we are handicapped via 110v circuits and avail. amperage per lead, the sweet spot will always be two high perf. 3 stage vacs in parallel and as large a pump as you can get away with....Heat..no way.

Now you have mentioned scorpion ;D,

I had a SafeClean operator stop and talk to me yesterday, I do know the operator he lives in the same village as me, " strange I never seem to see him working in this area" however he stopped to tell me about his new machine, A Scorpon" albeit from ebay , "never seen one of them on ebay "

After a few mins of waffling, he said it would out perform any truckmont ;D I literaly laughed in his face,
but it has the booster, he said. but no heat I replied.  Can you guess his answer?
you dont need, heat now their is a solution called micro splitters ,
Really, i said, in amazment thats marvelous .

Now it got me wondering, especialy when he told be that a new product had just come out called , "forgive me tham name may be slighly differnt to what he said, Allergn cure or something similar

and it stops mrsa.   I was thinking , this man has been indoctrinated by somebody here.

does anybody know if Safeclean, have any accosiation with a certain company?
