i have this for my current mortgage but it states my job as a team leader. If i go down the WC route who is best to ge tcover with should i have any accidents and be laid off for a bit

Income protection in reality is so expensive that the cost outweigh the benefits. There are so many exclusions and "ifs" and "buts" that its better to self insure and put the money away in an ISA. Otherwise its like throwing money away.

i agree with this. I was looking last month at the possibilities i was incredibly disappointed.

 google ant insurance they seemed pretty good though never got around to sorting it out

i'm only guesssing and am probably wrong but what i saw quoted on the net was very different to the prospectus i was sent through the post. Once i'd wasted my time filling out the details.
Saying that though, i think it is a good thing to have if you have wife/kids etc who depend on you to put food on the table.
If you ain't, don't bother.
