i'v had a lot of work off my van signs.....when you consider the cost of the sign ,and the fact that you may have your van for a good few years , it's a cost effective form of advertising.....

as i used to work for a sign company ,,, i was able to put my graphics on myself ...£75 or there abouts.

just picking one job up eg £10 house / mnth will pay for it......

does it say 'miserable old sod, window cleaner'

not having a go at you squeaks, read about your probs, hope you feel better soon.

but you always seem so negative,I went WFP about 4 mths before you did .

WFP dosen't earn me more money just because its faster, its because its given me so much more enthusiasm(spelling) for working.

I'm sure my work is not much different to yours(mostly domestic) but  honestly in 16 mths I've had one complaint(didn't like wfp so I still trad her house now)

You got to be more positive,I'm having my van signwritten soon, but to be honest I'm worried about getting to many calls.I've been going 27 yrs

What's to be positive about?

Customers don't like wfp.
I don't get hardly any new work, even after spending £300 on signwriting,
New work I do get is 8 weekly and they don't like wfp.
New work is always £10 semis and crap.
(Other cleaners get asked by people which are £50+ jobs.)
My biggest job is £25.

I need some good jobs, but don't get any.
And I'm bloody good at my job too.

Try being me mate, it's

squeaks those £10 semis are just fine, plenty of them and you are on a good wage,

why do you want what others have?

my highest is £25 too, and any job i get is a sign of better times ahead,

you are usually more positive than that squeaky.

you may be on a downer.

your customers dont like wfp...?

why?

mine always comment on the whole of the window and frames shining, and doors also...

i even get letters in with my cheques from new customers saying brilliant, amazing..etc.

sad but true.

it makes me proud too.

head up squeaks.

sqweeky...how long on wfp ??? i have some who are only coming round now and its been a year (10 cleans) so dont give up man, i sat and cried more than once after making switch, convinced it was all going t#ts up ,but new posters and flyers that now say "pure water cleaning" on em and still people are ringing up. for every one that dont like it there is 3 or more that dont care as long as they aint staring at bird crap on the french doors while they eat their coco  pops  ;D ;)

Its strange how some seem to have all the probs with wfp and those who dont. I have had a trolley system for 3 years and still only use it on certain jobs. In fact the jobs I thought would be a prob werent and visa versa.

Rog why dont you do just the tops wfp and the bottom trad. I dont know if you do it in this way but I think that custys can understand the probs with ladders and by just doing tops you are compromising.

Back on subject I have the magnetic adverts that you put on the side of the car. They do work and in some areas it works more than in others. I mainly have them as people know who you are and what your doing in their area. Its great for commercial in this sense.

Getting back to the original topic,... I've just changed my van and I'm hoping to get the signwriting done next week,...................... but I'm running short on idea's!

Any chance you guys could post pics of your vans so I can "borrow" the best bits from each??  ;D ;D

BTW,.. I'm working on a logo to advertise my (soon to be delivered) hot system,... this is only an early draft, but I'd appreciate your comments:
