Do any of you guys or girls have the 160 psi Totton pump fitted in your portable?

I uprated to this pump at begining of August and it lasted 2 months when it developed a pressure fualt at which time it was replaced under warranty.

Today the head started leaking :

Do any of you also have problems with this pump?

I'm begining to think there may be a reliability issue as the previouse 135 psi pump lasted 3 years without a problem.

Chris,

The answer is yes , Ashby's should have replaced the pump straight away.

I think we should as a forum find out and make clear exactly what our  consumer rights are.

I have never had any dealings with Ashbys being fairly new to c.c however I am in the market for a new machine, and the Ninja is on my list.

I spent the day with cloverleaf on Monday to see his machine in action, and it performed well.

But all the stuff on here in the last week has made me very reluctant to keep the Ninja on my shopping list.

The limited knowledge I do have is that all goods sold must be"Fit for the purpose" and any goods under warranty are the responsibility of the retailer.

After removing pump from machine I found that the pump head was distorted and cracked

As I sometimes leave machine in van I think damage may have been caused by frost, although not had any for least 1 1/2 weeks.

Sent pump back to Ashbys wednesday. Derek rang me at 9.15 next day to say damage may have been caused by m/c overheating or frost but would send pump head back to Totton for inspection.
New pump head with existing motor back on it's way! £68 for new head.
Derek also advised me to discharge pressure from pump and empty system when finishing a job.

I have to give Ashbys credit for such prompt attention
