Ionic Brush.
« on: February 19, 2008, 07:45:23 pm »
I thought i`d get the ionic brush out yesterday and give it another go,after doing a house with it i went and inspected the window`s only to find that there were an awful lot of spotting every where.I did the back of the house again with it and still spots,i then changed to my yellow cleantech brush and did the fronts and they came up perfect.I think this is the same problem people have with the vikan rectangular brush, the bristles are very similar to the new ionic brush and some wc`s i know have also had this probleem with using this brush.

i use the ionics brush, the dual trim straight mono, not the crinkle, all the time and find it a good brush, quite stiff for first cleans and scrubbing bird poo. ive also just brought a cleaning spot dual trim mono and i used that for the first time this week and i like it, its like the ionics but not quite so stiff, funny how everyones got a differant opinion

From what I've read on here Tucker Brushes always seam to get a good review I can't remember reading any negatives about them.

Thinking of trying one but can they be fitted to plastic angle adaptor or do they need to be modded in some way?

Also, what kind of weight do they come in at? and what price are they?

The bristles seem completely different to Vikans rec. I really don't see why it would cause spotting. And if you did the front again with another brush, wouldn't that say something about it being cleaned twice? I'd say ofcourse the second clean is going to be spotless? I highly doubt that a company like Ionics would use a brush that would leave spots, and how would a brush leave 'spots' anyway? I'd say something else is the matter. But hey, I'm not wfp yet. I'm just trying to use logic here.

You were full of how great the brush was in older threads and how much you loved it. What happened?

Are we talking about the multipole brush here? Crinkle monofil or not?

I`m on about the new ionic brush, and i said i also did the windows again with the ionics brush and they still spotted,i also did some windows again with my cleantech and they were perfect. The ionics brush is to stiff with cold water is the conclusion i`ve come to it`s fine on PVC but on wooden windows it causes problems.

NWH, I bought one of them new Ionic brushes on your recommendation. Using cold WFP the brush head is too stiff, with hot it's ok, the old Ionic comm head is better for splaying, Vikan mono is better and Tucker is even better.

It`s a good hot brush i`m not doubting that at all,i`ve submerged it in hot water and it`s much better but when cold ike you say it`s to stiff.I`m going to re-jet the tucker and give it another go,the vikam mono`s are rubbish in my opinion.

(REF: Vikan mono)
They're a bit like the new: (best hot) Ionic crinkle, but a little softer and also work better hot than cold. I bought my mono vikan, used it for a couple days and threw it in the shed. Couple months later I gave it another go to get use to it and prefer it with hot for frequent regular cleans but not for initial cleans.

I must have the old multipole brush then? Because mine certainly isn't crinkle???

My appologies for confusing you with my last post. The new (best hot) brush from Ionics I was referring to was the commercial one and it isn't crinkly, just stiffer bristles.

To be honest i think the majority of the brushes work better with hot water, especially the stiffer mono type brushes.

How come you can get away with rinsing on (even if it's tilting the brush) with a flocked brush like Cleantechs? It might be good, but isn't that a disadvantage?

You`ll have to explain your question a bit better, what are you asking.

Most WFP users swear that they have less problems rinsing with the brush on IF they use a mono filament brush.
I believe NWH agreed with that comment too some time ago.
Now NWH swears by his new Cleantech brush which has flocked bristles which goes against 'mono filament brushes are best' (because they trap less dirt in the bristles) rule, so you are sending out mixed messages.
I swear by mono filament brushes because they don't trap dirt in the bristles whereas 'flocked' ones do which is why so many WFP users rinse off the glass.
