Hi all! I realise this is a bit hard for people to help me with without seeing the job, but ive been to see a job today, basically its a one bedroom flat and the previous tenant left the shower on or something when he left, 3 weeks later the letting agency has gone in and its mould city!! There are orange stalegmite type ones hanging from the ceiling and loads of other varieties i have never seen. There are oak beams in the flat whivch are covered and the wallpaper has peeled away in places due to the steam and the mould has covered the paper and got behind it....basically the walls and ceiling and carpets are covered. I understand the dangers of mould and i understand you have to use something like microsan etc but I have no idea if just cleaning over the wallpaper etc will solve the prob? will the mould have gone into the plaster etc? It looks like a huge job which I would like to be able to help with as this letting agency has put nearly £700 of work my way in the last week alone. Any advise on price and or procedure would be greatly appreciated, many thanks

hi there
ollie, if the walls are plasterboard,
then you would be looking at removing all the affected areas, the spores are able to live in the plasterboard.
microsan will have an effect, but you cannot guarantee it.
you need to lok at a professioanl strip out, moisture level monitoring, and possibly a drying regime required.
if you would like to talk about this please call me in the morning 07771 526246.
where abouts in the country is this property.
regards
