You often find this will fit onto the end of a tap.

Its thread is external, therefore the tap would have to have an internal thread ???

Its only about 10mm across.

Thats right Matt, the taps I buy have an internal thread, so your barb will fit inside it.

up to you if you are gonna chuck it then post it to me cos i use em in my pole hose ends  ;Dgood point is that schraders or easi snap fittings screw on so you only have to buy the fitting and replace it rather than clip hose or prise open crimps ;D

wcw sell em for under 2 quid (probly) serious tho theres lots of reel /pole combinations and in a few months you will find one that suits you. Ilike a tap on the reel with a male fitting and female poe hose fittings.I find the male fitting on the tap more robust and removable female fittings can be unscrewed and cleaned so last a bit longer(although imo all these bits are crap its just that some are less crap than others) also females om pole dont drip in van and male on hose can release pressure so geca fittings from pump to reel seperate  :)

The kit pictured is a microbore/minibore fitting kit for a metal hose reel.

The brass connector you are asking about will screw into the internal hose fitting on one of our heavy duty metal hose reels as shown below. It screws into the inside of the hose barb.

The kit you have picture will connect a reel of Microbore/Minibore to a metal hose reel and then terminate it in an EZ snap end stop.

If you are using a plastic (Hozelock) reel then you need the Microbore/Minibore fitting kit for plastic hose reels, same price just come with an adapter and section of 1/2" hose to connect to the 1/2" fitting on the inside of plastic hose reels.

I hope that this makes sense. If you have bought the wrong kind of fitting kit for your hose reel then I'm sure that we can exchange them for you.
