[frames to panes]

Been doing a hotel/b&b for a while now - i clean it with a Superlight brush (Bentley) anyway today i had the chance to inspect my work from the inside and my verdict is it's crap. Looks ok from a distance but the Bentley can't cut into the corners under the top sash, i think i need a sharper square ended brush. What do you use?

I've just got a Cleantech Brush, and it doe's the corners a treat.

Very impressed with it.

Got it with the narrow fan jets, and really like them - better rinsing, but you still have some control over the water.

About 80% of my work is sash windows, the best i've found is a rectangular vikan with the plastic stock cut off at each end & along the top. this allows the brissles to get right into the corners & under the top sash. they also hold enough water to give a good flush under the top sash (mega important). using the correct brush & technique you can clean these windows with no probs.
When i first started i was sold oval vikans (the old style) & would nearly always get runs from under the sash & never get into the corners. like you say, from one angle they can look perfect, look closer & they can be awful.

Just started using the new Vikan rectangular (all red bristles).

I really like it - the bristles are stiff enough to really work it into the corners (oval brushes don't seem to get in there properly).

I also have a rectangular Cleantech.  It has much softer bristles than the Vikan and they tend to 'splay out' too much if you apply a lot of pressure (with the result that they appear to be 'wiping' the glass rather than scrubbing it).

I personally have the brush angled very slighty upwards. I find this good for ensuring the bristles get into corners.

Interesting that you should say that, I find the Cleantech harder the compress the bristles that on my Viklan ( Oval)

I'll have a go tomorow dude, it does make a very real difference. i don't cut any brissles off, just all the excess black plastic stock & stop about 2mm from the edge of the brissles.

I also have 2 Vikan ovals. The bristles are nowhere near as stiff as the new Vikan rectangular (believe me).

I prefere the action of the (medium grade) flocked rec' vikan to the mono' but the mono' holds less dirt in the brissles. add a modified MKII swivel & it's the biz IMO

It's one of these, by modified i mean streangthend, you need to drill a small hole through it & insert a pin/nail to stop the joint popping out. very simple & very effective.
