Head screwed on cont'd pt 2

Thanks for the advice and links Matt. I tried to post this but couldn't

The greatest return on investment is when you either just start or want to expand rapidly. Dave sts Ives mentioned that he needed to invest in a new home water production system. This may cost him £1000, and will give him more control of his business and less down time.

Virtually any investment you make in your business will pay off provided it is sensible. But you must be aware of this. If your van is tired you might need a new one anyway.

If you have a very good business and just want to carry on, as dai (spelt okay) does, then that's what you do.But don't necessarily disbelieve people who claim to have done in ten months what took you ten years.I'm like a bullet from a gun, so don't read me as typical.

Mr S

I have read the past 3 subjects with some interest
You seem to be successful in what you do, are you rich?
I'm sure you don't mean it but you do come across like an arrogant knowitall

Just a little constructive criticism there ;)

I usually find stuff like this hard to believe.  There's been flash guys on this forum before and they've basically been living in a dream world; even the guy here who tried to sell a book about how to make a fortune window cleaning.

Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say, and even with the best marketing strategy and 'can do' attitude, it'll still take time to build up a good business.

When I read "head screwed on"  I honestly thought it was a new way of putting the brush on the pole! :D
I used to get Exchange & Mart about 30 years ago, it was full of books for sale promising to make you a Mi££ion if you read the book, I never bought one...........and I never made a Mi££ion

Unless you buy a ready made round off an established cleaner, then you are highly unlikely to be a business success in less than a year - whatever equipment you have, you just can't find streets and streets of houses for yourself - it just doesn't happen. It takes a long time to get the work and then compact it into seperate days work where you hardly move all day. Mr Solubility you may well be "like a bullet from a gun"but i doubt even you could pull it off in a year to the stage of having a top business. In my opinion it takes years of work or a lot of purchasing power to get there. And of course if you buy your round then that figure has to be deducted from your turnover. Likewise your equipment costs too.

Mr solubility at times you seem to run guys down how dont want to spend vast amounts on their equipment but is your own equipment not diy? diy is a cost effect way to start wfp cleaning which im sure you will agree otherwise you would have spend 10k on an off the self hot water system.
Im not have a go but just pointing out that from some of your posts you come across as though you have all brand names and would not entertain diy.

thats my point from mr solubility's post you would come to the conlusion that to be successful you need to speed alot but i don't think that is what he actually believes( maybe hes playing devils advocate). Im not attacking him personally because i think he could help alot of people who want to diy hot systems.

Tosh,
This and the previous two threads that were both locked out of cussedness has been a debate about various levels of investment. At times it has been bad tempered, and at times colourfull. Hardly anyone (apart from davo and tenant) seems to have the slightest clue of what i've been talking about.

When we get down to cases MacMac says it's only common sense and nothing new, another guy calls me a know all, and you say I'm flash. The reply was mean't for MacMac, who knows how to argue and throw down challenges but doesn't know how to debate or disscuss ideas.
