if i was to ask a mate of mine who does carpet cleaning if he would do work for me generated from my website i am having built, would he be offended if i asked 20% of his earnings?

10-15% would be more appropriate 20 is too high

hey i'd do it and give you a 20% cut, I'd rather have a extra 80% that i was'nt going to get. than 85% or 90% of nothing

just pass the 20% on to the customer or at least some of it.

my mate worked for a company that 100% of the quoted price, all he made was from what he added to the price for 'protector' and 'conditioner'

Hi Guys
A lot depends on how much you are doing.
If you are quoting/getting the job then a higher percentage is justified but if you are putting the sub contractors number on advertising and letting him quote etc, then a lower percentage is justified.
This is what I am currently doing on my websites and charging 10 %
