Prowler demo at 9 o clock, after Sunday night I'll not be able to see the ON switch till well past 11 ;)

I think the Prowler v Scorpion is a bit silly as it isn't really comparing like for like, but if thats what they want.

Hi Guys

Well done to Pete and Jason, you have worked really hard and it should be an excellent day.

John, I think the idea of Prowler vs Scorpion is to have a big portable vs a small TM and see how big a gap there is.

It should be fun, although it would also be interesting to include a small Woodbridge and a heated porty , such as the Ninja.

Should the porties be allowed add ons like extra heaters and vacs boxes not included in their 2 leads ?

Cheers

Doug

Thanks for all your kind words ;).

Its taken some organising and still more to go but think we're getting there!

We're still waiting on one or two suppliers.

The porty v t/m competition was something we thought might be a bit of a laugh but we're still undecided on how to do it fairly.

Oh, forgot to mention we have the carpets at the venue to clean after the day as part of the deal :o so might be a better idea to compare a few units and have a go yourself whilst doing the clean. I think theres only about 200 sq. metres in total so shouldnt take long with hopefully 50 professional carpet cleaners in attendance  ;D.

P.s. John, dont worry. I couldnt see straight for 2 days after the last ccdo beer up ;D.

All the best,
Jason.

I couldn't see straight for two after having had to look at you in the morning J, it still makes me shudder when I look back.

Joe, I'll bring me old ninja in if you want but it will probably look be the same as comparing a dustbuster to a steempro if I were to go up against a scorpian.

Well thats very honest of you Pete.
Looks like the Scorpio v Prowler then.
I can imagine the "winner" but would like to see what you get for the extra money of the Prowler, plus really like to see this 4 jet wand on the Scorpion.

Thank you and Jason, plus others who may have been working behind the scenes to get this together - much appreciated.

Cheers Joe,

We're still trying to work out a format for the clean off. I think to have 2 masked off areas say 12' x 12' and have the vans positioned at same door at the same time. To have say a couple of buckets of water a sinks distance + filling time away for the porty user to have to collect and fill their machine as well.

Theres no point doing it if the test isnt as real as possible.

Any adeas?

Perhaps Alltec might want to compete with the Advantage with a Rotavac fitted
its a bit like a ploughing   Competion.

Of course if ni Pre Vac is done that should be a disqualification ;D ;D ;D ;D

No, you buy a scorpion without a heater fitted as standard same with vac boxes  but its not my call you buy a standard prowler then don't have to start adding extras.

I agree....................... out of the box comparisons are what we need ................. Top Gear show us showroom cars, we can all go and add big wheels and nitrous oxide if we wish  ;D

Re Prowler v Scorpion
I think we all know which is going to outperform the other - the Prowler.
What I would like to compare is the value for money.
(all prices exc VAT)
Prowler cost £5995 but includes 50ft vac and solution hose and a 2" wand. Heater standard.
Scorpion costs £2450 but excludes hoses, and wand - how much for those - say £450 no say £500.
so we now have £2950.
OK lets see how they perform against each other

but the price difference is still £3045

so lets add on a in-line heater £500
and Solutions Mighty One Booster £635  (needed on longer hose lenghts where cant get machine closer??)

Scorpion now costs £4085

So how does £4085 of machinery stand up to £5995 stuff.
Thats what I would like to see

Lets assume the Prowler outperforms still.
But if I was upgrading I want to know what do I get for that extra £1910.

Anything I have missed out of the calculation?
Is there a water tank to buy for the Prowler? If YES - how much? say £92 for 175 litre.
Plus some fitting ito van? You put a figure on it.

So yes, lets pile the "goodies" onto the Scorpion - lets get it to top spec. As I said before I expect the Prowler still to outperform but its value for money (taking into account performance as well) that I would be interested in.

Sounds like we are in for a good day.

No tank to buy its included in the price as for fitting its a case of bolting frame to floor four bolts and prowler fitted.Tank fitting depends on van set up.
