9.15 -9.30 What is a spot and what is a stain?

9.30 – 10.00 The Survey: Identifying any pre-existing damage, various tests for shrinkage, dye bleed/migration, and tensile strength.

10.00-10.45 Identification of Textile Fibres:
A look at the various substrates and their reactions to stain removal chemicals.

10.45-11.0 Coffee:

11.00-11.45 The Chemistry of Spot & Stain removal: Chemical use in relation to fabrics and soil types. The importance of pH. Do Protectors actually work? Health & Safety considerations.

11.45-12.30 The Basic Spot & Stain Kit: All the tricks of the Trade in a box.

12.00-1.15 Buffet Style Lunch:

1.15-2.0 Spotting Techniques: The main objective is to remove the spot or stain, wherever possible, without damaging the substrate.

2.00 – 4.30 Practical stain removal: An opportunity for delegates to try some of the stain removal products, equipment and procedures.

I'm not sure this has a place on ciu most people use all the forums so can see it for themselves, plus most off here are banned from cleantalk so not much point

but I am sure the real reason Mike put this on CIU is because some may not frequent the Clean Talk site and may be interested in hearing Derek Bolton pass on his years of experiance.
The more courses brought to "our" attention the better.

That may be by choice or simply because they did not follow the site owners views and are banned.I'm all for training the more the better.

I got banned from Cleantak about two months ago. I have been using M-power for certain types of carpet and about to finish my 4th bottle.

Will never do business with them ever again and will be trying Nemisis soon. Their loss.

OK you have been banned by Cleantak its a bit like getting an ASBO badge

But although I realise there are  concerns etc this cannot be the place .

I would suggest www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog or if you are a NCCA member file complaint with them along with the evidence

if there is a stain removals course then its good that everyone has the opportunity to know about it, no matter who is running it.

I'm not solutions biggest fan but these courses teach people that M/S are not the nervina of stain removal and often old tried & tested methods are needed.

I don't know about you Steve but I get a bit sick about people coming on the forums saying the get every stain imaginable  with a sprinkle of M-power or M/S. we need these courses to show other alternatives.

He was also a NCCA trainer

The cost is very reasonable others chargre £155 plus VAT


Stain removal courses do not occur very often

when I went to another company they just taked about their No1 No 2 and 3 etc

Its seams to me if it is going to take a day there must be more to it than Micro splitters

Rather then treating spots first, like I used to do, I use Nemesis Super, or M-Power, or Pure Clean, first and see what marks are left.
If needed, I then get on my knees to treat the spots left.
I think thats a reasonable way to tackle the job.
Is the client happy at the end of the day? Thats the important thing, and if my back feels better cause of less bending then thats a big bonus.
