9.30 – 10.00 The Survey: Identifying any pre-existing damage, various tests for shrinkage, dye bleed/migration, and tensile strength.
10.00-10.45 Identification of Textile Fibres:
A look at the various substrates and their reactions to stain removal chemicals.
10.45-11.0 Coffee:
11.00-11.45 The Chemistry of Spot & Stain removal: Chemical use in relation to fabrics and soil types. The importance of pH. Do Protectors actually work? Health & Safety considerations.
11.45-12.30 The Basic Spot & Stain Kit: All the tricks of the Trade in a box.
12.00-1.15 Buffet Style Lunch:
1.15-2.0 Spotting Techniques: The main objective is to remove the spot or stain, wherever possible, without damaging the substrate.
2.00 – 4.30 Practical stain removal: An opportunity for delegates to try some of the stain removal products, equipment and procedures.
