Went to work on tuesday. all wfp. didnt work wed coz of blowing winds and rain. Went to work thurs, strong winds are blowing by the time we finish. Went back to collect last nite. av to go back to 7 houses monday. windows were as if i used tap water and a brown dust on all the sills 

Been using wfp a year now and this is the first time i have come across this. Some houses the backs came out fine but the fronts upstairs were like they had not been done. Others the whole house came out crap. i havent even had a chance to see how the wfp works in the rain because of all the high winds. Though if its like this in the wind don't hold much hope for working in the the rain.

Any thoughts on the matter.

you will find it is alright if it is just raining, it is the wind that causes the problems the reason being the windows are left wet so any dust and dirt particles that are being blown around stick to the pure water on the glass and when the water does dry off the dirt is left making the windows look a mess.

i also find that if there is building work near by it happens alot.

It's not only Pontypool it's all over South Wales. I've done a few commercial jobs this week and was called back to find the windows covered in a reddy brown dust. Apparently it's coming from the Sahara. This happens once in a while, I think the last time was about 5 years ago.

yeh i have had the same here ,one lady rang me to say that i had not done the back windows,
and that i must go back to see them to believe it .
so i go back to her ,and say that i did clean all of her windows,well she went of on one?
not quite calling me a liar,mainly cos i just happened to be talking to the bloke next door ,
at the time of the clean,he had  seen me cleaning them.
anyway to keep her sweet i done them again for her  THE BITCH

i'm in ammanford south wales , i always work in the rain, been wfp for 3 yrs...... it was wed evening to thurs morning that this dust came over, yhere were articles in many newspapers about it...... this very rarely happens,and it's not our fault if it happens after we have finished cleaning someones windows.....

on thursday evening i went around to see all of my custies from wednesday to explain about this unusual sandy rain...they were all fine with it and they thanked me for taking the time to come out of an evening to explain , apart from 1 who is always a pain and hard to please.............i understand that she was annoyed ,but she was very rude to me , as she always is......   SHE IS NOW OFF MY LIST        

and iv already picked up 4 custies to replace her through word of mouth.....
the thing is this only happens every few years, if that???      it's very annoying , but it's not our fault.

Use a hot WFP system. The water dries much quicker

if you cant afford a hot water system use a squeegee they dry instantly

My own windows were covered in the same stuff; Rod's spot on.

It's dust from desert climes; so not your fault.

There is a good chance it its from the pipeline they are building, all the soil/dust getting into the atmosphere. We also regularly get sand from the Sahara in this country, Luke

Diffferent folks different strokes but i don't consider the job done until the windows are dry. I will still take the money as soon as ive finished, but would happily go back and re-clean if they got dirty within that drying time.
