I have been using the same RO man systems for a couple of years now, not sure but i think its the RO 75.

Anyway its still producing water but very very slowly is this because the filters have worn out ? it has a coconut carbon-granular carbon-5 micro sediment  filter plus the membrane on the top, it does say on them max life 6 months but they have been producing great till now.

i would change your membranes and filters and you will notice the difference but you have done well to get a couple of years out of them

Prefilter most likely blocked, the sediment filter. Change the prefilters should do it.

Out of curiosity, does the pre filter look white when you buy them as i can't remember when i bought it but i am having problems at the moment with mine even though i haven't produced a great deal of water with it yet.

Also wheres the best place to get the replacements?  Direct from ro-man?

dudek if your sediment filter is chocolate brown time to change also dont know if they still doin it but cleantech were doing all three for 7.99 not that long ago  , was an offer tho

change the prefilters first - blocked sediment filters will slow down production a hell of a lot, but dont buy cheap filters to save a few pence it will cost more in the long run.

my ro has slowed down from areound 200l to 140l . could it just be the make of the prefilter i have put in .

3-4 Months or so, it's just an estimate, it depends on the hardness of the water. Manuf. recommend 3000-4000 Gallon, which is like a month, but then again that's a very conservative number because they are being used around the world regardless of water quality. In normal conditions they might last twice that amount or something.

Membranes should last a lot longer than that if you flush properly and keep to the recommended prefilter replacement periods.

My 300gpd membranes are still producing at 4-6ppm from an input of 260-280 after two and a half years.

filters , carbon filters, i have not a clue which to replace, what are the 3  things above the filter housings called too lol. sorry but i got it second hand so no instructions.

and i cant find that spanner thing

The three vertical canisters at the bottom of the unit are the Pre-Filter housings. These need replacing the most often, they typically are 5 micron sediment filter, Granular Activated Carbon filter and a Carbon Block filter.

They need replacing every 6 months as if left the material can start to deteriorate, if you use a lot of water then they would need replacing every 3 months.

The Horizontal chambers above them are the RO membrane housings. Inside each one is a reverse osmosis membrane. These generally last about 2-4 years, depending on how often you have changed your pre-filters and how much use they have had.

If production rate starts to slow then the first thing to do is change pre-filters and allow them to flush for a few hours. If after a few days the production rate has not returned to normal then the RO membranes may have been affected and need replacing.

Most RO suppliers sell the spanner thingies as well.

Those "three things" are the membrane housings .  Yours is a 300gpd system, each membrane is rated at 100 gallons per day (not that they ever produce anything like that )

The three verticle clear plastic housings are the prefilters, which should be replaced as a set every six months or so.  RO-man do them at about £25 a set.

That "spanner thing" is for undoing (and doing up) the prefilter housings.  You can get a replacement from RO-man, but I don't know how much.
