shame my rainwaters reading at 003 today. but it seems to be ok...this could be the start of something!

You may well get away with up to 010 TDS.

Good luck if you can.

Are you in a softwater area?

I don't think I would rely on rainwater to be the same each time, as you might pick up all kinds of different contaminents depedning on other factors.

well io tried it, unfortunalty i picked up anew hotel this morning (which is great) but meant i had to try the rainwater out on it, it looked really good!

but i dont think i would rely on it unless i had a DI in the van

Have a look at xxxmatty'sxxx post and see his home made harvesting system. No need for a DI

I have this sneaky suspicion that untreated rainwater with a tds of say up to 17 and collected from an impervios roof like felt/plastic , MAY be OK even though the tds meter says 17. Because there is no calcium/salts in it.
Ok lets say its dilute mud.
Maybe when dry, the dry mud just drops off the glass as fine dust. I mean theres plenty of non 000 tds rain about. Not sure the suppliers will like this idea though.
