Im contemplating buying a round near me, its very local and will be convenient.
The problem is im wfp and the round has been done traditionally, and am wondering if its gonna be more agg than worth while.
The thing im thinking is that its a whole new lot of people not knowing me from adam, do i just tell them all about the system and this is how its gonna be done from now on.
Really do not want too be getting me ladders out.

What would you guys do ?

if it was worth it i would buy it do the first one trad get the top of the frames clean so less likely to run then give them a letter explaining the new system thats what i would do

for a starter people don,t like change but it could be a change for the better if the previous window cleaner was making a cock of the job....i,d just go along with what you believe in buy the work and drop them a letter in explaining the change from trad to wfp sure you,ll probabley loose some but in the long run you,ll be ok...by the way im mainly trad and generally only use wfp on commercial jobs on level 2

i think you got it spot on there. its hard enough converting your own round from trad to wfp, with the the customers not knowing you.  i would be worried, but it could pay off, you will have to take in account that the liklyhood is you wil loose some because of the change over anyway.

explain that you what you will be doing

once around on a ladder to clean the frames aswell, get your face seen

then change

sure you will lose some we all have when we went wfp and some people dont like a new face but then again you might pick up more on my round one street i bought had 3 custys on it i knocked the whole street and walked away with 10 more

yes you may pick up 10 new one and you may not 
but if your going to pay for a round you want a return asap. there no point in paying for a round when you may loose them 
thats why the rounds that are wfp seem to be more sort after than trad.

all depends on the quailty of the work really.
and price of course 
the liklyhood is that it may be hard work to start but i will pay off in the end,
i was in the same situation myslf but the work was underpriced and to change them over to wfp and up the price just wouldnt have worked.
so it was a no for me

but like i said its the quaily of the work,

i have just bought couple days work of a friend he is still trad.

the houses were under priced i put them all up by £5.00 per house from 10- 15 next year i said they would go up to £18.00,

i did them all wfp explained how i clean, just said see what they think and take it from there, all bar one was more than happy especially as windows above cons were done and frames, the only one who went,was of price increase. no loss! as i picked up two others.

if you only lose one customer changing thats very very good, I have lost quite a few now, but replaced more, lost to today as they didnt like there glass getting wet.

Losing customers is the way things go, but i am always a little bit disappointed when one bites the dust. When i 1st went wfp, i lost 3 and pushed another 3 cos of the stress of wondering when, not if they were going to dump me.
Have gotta admit it felt like my whole round was rebelling and i spent the best part of a month in constant thought.
Self confidence or a thick skin is what's needed when converting a round.

Yes.  For me it got to the point where I was dreading the cheques coming through the letter box if there appeared to be a note with them.  Often the note just said "Thank you" but there were some cancellation notes too.  Also, I took it upon myself to cancel a few too.  A 5% loss of work in all and it took a while for the gains to start equalling the losses as I did not actively canvass.  These days I get work sometimes BECAUSE I've got WFP.  Amazingly, although I have gained a lot of work in addition to subcontracting part of another round, I still don't regard myself as having a full workload.

Im new to this and just starting up myself, are home owners really that bothered about how there windows are cleaned, my mum had a trad window cleaner but it was then taken over by someone else with wfp system, he explained the change and she said she doesnt mind how its done as long as windows are clean, ive posted other questions in this forum as im just setting up, ive got the cash to get van and wfp system but everyone is saying go trad 1st but if its going to lose me customers in a few months because i change ove arent i better of getting wfp now and start as i mean to go on.
