RO-MAN Booster Pump
« on: January 15, 2008, 03:26:25 pm »
Recived my booster pump today orderd it sunday night inpressed with the fast delivery even tho i could only get the 2-5 day delivery service.

http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/28/products_id/279

Anyway wen i got it was a bit confused as i had a sort of T peice connector for 2 water pipes to go 2 and stuff but figired it out now.

Only thing am unsure of the holes on the screw in connections to the pump seem 2be 6mm RO tubing fitting does that mean i use the RO tubing from the tap? to booster pump then to RO?

Hi Dave,

I got one of these a few days ago...absoultley brilliant...only problem my old pump would take around 12 hours to fill 500l so I would turn on when I got home from work and turn off next morning...the new pump is nearly twice as fast filling up so have to be careful when filling up over night!!!

Anyway, back to your question mains water goes through filter system first then into pump then out of pump and through RO mebranes then into holding tank. Hope that makes some sense.

Thanks for the info!

filters? i just have a purefreedom RO was going to but booster pump before that so it would be  water from tap - booster pump - ro - di - tank ( i am using a trolley) is that correct?

What RO do you have btw.

Right think i got it now..

pre filters are the vertical filters going down and the membranes are the top ones going across???

So inbetween the two ?

i think so? what ro do you have ? a 300gpd?

i would imagine thats how it connects up as it would be strange to have it before the unit, as you would then need to go from tap to 1/4inch to tap hose to unit ...

it would make sense to go after the prefilters, before the membranes, im not completely sure though

yep thats same as the one i just sold, i would put it after the three vertical filter canisters as they are all connected together, just connect up the hose before it goes into the other horizontal filters/membranes whatever they are - either way it can still pump and suck, and should work well there...

i dont think that pump is designed for 24 7 useage, so let us know how quick it will fill a 1000ltr ibc..
thanks

what does the pump have to connect to the tubing? if its the john guest fittings that just push in place then try and cut the tubing long, or replace with longer tubing so you have enough length to mount the pump near it, or fit a john guest inline fitting to extend the screw on fitting thats on the last prefilter.

yer its the same as the RO tubing with those connectors that screw and tighten onto the tube? if u understand that.

i have some spare and a connection that will allow me to connect to pipes 2gether ;)

Cheers for that mate

Hi Dave,

It is an excellent pump, I am most impressed with it, much better than I expected. If I had known how much difference it made from my old pump I would have bought one ages ago.

Mine runs with a psi of around 75....I turned it on this moring at 8.30am and at 4pm today it had produced 400l of water which works out to just over 1 litre per min..not bad!!

What is also good is it works just aswell in cold weather down to 3oc unlike my old pump.

cool! sounds good.

How do you change the psi of the pump? remove those 4 little screws? and turn it up slightly?
Dave.
