Hi
The formula is 774 x 100 divided by 110 or 117.5 if VAT IS 17.5% this will give you the net figure before 10% was added
thanks

I think here is looking for the net figure before the 10% is added to make the gross 774.

Eddie,
When you pay vat flat rate it is 10% gross.
You are allowed/supposed to charge your customers- if you show it as a seperate item- 17.5%.
According to the VAT man you actually make a profit by putting all of your prices up 17.5%

thx mr solubility
in order to be competitive and as the cost is passed on to the customer (care homes )im only going to charge what i have to pay .
the custy pays for it in a service charge and wont be claiming any vat back even if the company is .
but thx for your insight
