I use one of them too along with my varistream. So Alex, can you explain why you dont use a varistream or something similar? Luke

Never needed one! I use a 100psi Flojet pump with 100m of 6mm Microbore, this gives a good flow rate. All I need to be able to do is switch it on and off, the valve does this. It also allows you to occasionally turn down the flow rate for the odd delicate window, without having to walk back to the van to do so.

Either Varistream, or simple by-pass back to the tank, either way you don't need the pressure switch provided you never close the bypass if the varistream isn't in circuit.

Varistream is good, so long as it works, but if you've got a bypass in the system, if the varistream packs up, you run the pump direct from the battery - saves losing time.

Same as mine heard some many bad storys about varistreams so thought id stay away from them.

maybe i phrased my question wrong or i am misunderstanding you all here. What unit do you use to click the pump into action? I know the pump is connected to the battery but surely a little unit is used here to kick it all into life.

is this the varistream unit? ???

Jsmc a varistream is used to adjust the flow rate from your pump and turns it off and on

You need to fit an in-line switch between your battery and your pump, a 10 amp auto switch from Halfords will do the trick.
