ok think like this water in resin out ooo when it goes up you throw the same 001 away, if you had a second vessel it would be working at 001 in and 000 when resin in the first reaches same as tap swop the first vessal and the second around then use refill vessel 1, but vessal 2 would in vessel 1's place out can you seen where i am coming from m8?

if it goes out higher than it comes in something is defo wrong.
the way I now have mine set up, I have an RO BY the way so ignor that bit)

tap hose ro di di tank

yours if doing to tap hose di di tank

first di vessal conected to second via out ohn first into in on second then out to tank (that consused me writting that)

when first vessal rises to same as tap swop vessals so secong them becomes the first empty old resin from teh first vessle you have just removed then place it in the second vesslals place, when it rises againb onb the first (which was your second) swop back and then empty and do agin and again.

if that was confusing call me ronnie my number is on hopme page of site, and I will tell you over the phone.

It depends what resin you are using, if you are using regenerated resin which Purolite and Rohm tend to be then you should produce around 9/12,000 litres.

If you use virgin with the likes of Tulsion and Dowex you should get around 19/22,000 litres.

However there are also the factors involved like looking after your resin, never leave a bag open, capacity and flow rate.

Ronnie

You will be far, far better off with 2 x 11Ltr DI vessels, the only extra expense is another DI vessel ( 50 quid' ish ).
My tap tds is 96ppm, i don't use RO either but do use twin DI's.

To try & make it a bit clearer for you-

Say you start off using 1 vessel with an input tds of 50ppm. after a while the tds from this vessel will start to rise, 001/002 etc. At around this point you will have to throw this resin away & fill with new resin to keep your water at 000ppm, now you have a new filled vessel still with an input tds of 50ppm.

Now, if you had a second DI vessel you could fill this one with fresh resin & use the first one to pre-filter it! so, the resin reading 001/002 that you were going to just throw away is now acting like an RO by pre-filtering your fresh resin in your second DI vessel. So the input tds of your new vessel is just 001/002ppm & not 50ppm. You just connect the two together with a short piece of standard hose pipe. The tds in the vessels will still rise but there is a method to make it last even longer & vessel 1 wont reach your tap tds before vessel 2 needs changing anyway. but i will cover this if you need the info & do go with a twin DI set-up.

This method allows you to get every last drop of use from your resin & is much more economical than just using a single DI vessel.

As DA SERVICES stated, using a good quality virgin resin like dowex or tulsion will give you maximum efficiency with this twin DI system.

I had some debate with foxman the other day as to why purolite resin performs so poorly, i think it must be re-generated but he thinks not. wether it is or isn't, what is true is that purolite doesn't last nearly as long as the other two & is even worse in a twin DI system as it doesn't hold a low tds for long at all.
I have no other intention than to offer you ( experienced ) advice & help to save you money. This is why i can only advise you do not use purolite resin, been there, tried it, tested it back to back, it's pants!

hope this helps. ;)

mac mac thanks it makes good sense i will have to do that.

window washers wot do you mean a cheap pc? its a brodex machine i use a reserve tank to hold tap water and use a sub pump to pump water into brodex machine.
It saved my payinfg afortune for a bigger machine and does the job just as well.
