Just ordered my Purefreedom Trolley from Andrew


I feel so excited, bit like a boy going to watch Bristol City (yes ok ok, I know) for the first time.

I have the Pure Freedom trolley and love it - works perfectly for my round

Get yourself  a large storage tank  ( 300 + litres) for your water. I have this set up in my outhouse and fill my barrels up each night. -  some extra barrels too I have 12 now.

You may want to be looking at a longer pole also.

I got a longer pole from Alex, and shortened the one that came with the trolley - I use this for ground floor mainly.

Also, get yourself 30 mtrs of Microbore, and rig up a system so that you don't always have to move the trolley around - I find this works a treat.

You won't regret the purchase at all.

Oh... and defo get yourself a flow control valve from Alex.

I got a couple of questions.

I should have asked Andrew, but what length of hose does it come with?

Regarding the flow control valves, if you shut the water supply off doesnt this cause strain on the pump as its pumping and remaining under pressure on the outlet side???

What size containers are needed for the trolley, I know it commes with one, but will need a good few more, and want to be sure I get the right size.

The hose that comes with the pole is not that long, and you will find yourself moving the trolley around a lot.

I receveived I think it was 6 x 25 litre barrels with the system - but you will certainly need more.

Although the caps aren't as good as the one that come with the trolley - but there good value for money ( get the stackable, clear square round)


When the flow control valve is shut, the pump won't pump - as soon as you open the valve the pump fires up.

Cheers, any idea of dimensions for the containers, dont want to buy 10 or so and find theyre too big for the trolley.

As you get more profficient you will use the hose more and move the trolley less and less. This is a natural development . Good luck, the learning curve is a bit steep at first but it is well worth it. You will never regret it after the first two weeks.

Forget the 2 week comments,no offense people.You will need at least 6 months more like year before you can walk away and know you`ve done a proper job trust me,in 2 weeks your find out which way is more comfortable to hold the poles etc but it will take a lot longer than 2 weeks to master correct use of WFP.

Matt... couple a  tips.

Don't run your until there are dry. You'll get an airlock, and they can be a bugger to get out.

Occasionally I forget to place the pick up tube in the barrel - this cause's the mother of all air locks!!

Now poles. I have pasted the above info from the WCW website just as an example. The various poles available come in different lengths, theyre telescopic etc etc, I assume they do NOT have to be used at their full length, for example you might have the 27' pole but one of the windows on a property being at 15' can still be done with this pole but with it shortened in length by adjusting the number of sections extended. Would I be right in this??

Also, can you take a section of pole off if you want and maybe just work with enough sections to reach to 20' and then if necessary briefly add a section onto the pole to be able to reach higher or  can they not be dismantled?

        Well done join the same gang as me I got all the kit from Andrew has he run out?
You can get barrells from him the are 25ltr ones and work well I got ten but only seem to use eight
Also try and get a 100 meter hose and I would deffo have the shut of valve on the pole as it works a treat
You will get used to it and I still check my work especially new cleans

If you were trad before you should of had your sills and everything wiped anyhoo
so there should be no problem

Are you going to do bottoms Trad still?

That may be the case, but thats not what I was asking, I said they were just an example, I was NOT asking yours or anyones opinion on WCW supplies,  read the whole jist of the question, if you have something constructive to say feel free to do so, but to be honest if you havent anything constructive dont bother otherwise.

So, if theres anyone else, who can answer my question regarding the usage of poles I'd be very grateful.

I got my pole from PF they used a supplier will take a look in a bit but 24ft pole four section and I can do 3 story town houses also when collapsed right down I use it on the bottoms for georgians and leads bit awkward but less than taking out sections unless you get a wee small pole for the bottoms

Most of my work is within walking distance but barrels last between 2-3 houses
but mostly I only do tops
