Pipe Connector's.
« on: January 10, 2008, 01:27:55 pm »
Hi Guys, what do you all recommend are the best connectors to use from your brush hose to the hose pipe?

I am still using the standard Rectus 21 Series that is fitted from new, but am getting really P***ed off replacing them what seems like every 5 minutes. All you have to do is drop end of hose once and the female goes out of shape (dont they all) ha ha. But there must be an alternative???
Come on guys need a more heavy duty and versatile connector? What do you all use?

Cheers Fellas

I use them, mines nearly a year old and still ok (just). I have a short piece of bicycle inner tube over mine, seems to help.

The protekta ball connectors from Gardiners might be the right job for you!

I used to get this problem, until I changed them over to the pro connectors, the type used on compressors, I also have a tennis ball fitted to the end.

I went back to using plastic hoselock on the end of my micobore, reason being they are cheap to replace and available almost everywhere, I dont drag it on the floor though, i hang it from a carabina on a strap round my neck and simply walk it back to the van before i reel the hose in.

I just use a stop tap hoselock connector, with a male hosetail on the pole hose. Cheap as chips and has lasted me 4 months so far!  :) I just unplug the hose when I want to turn the water off, and control the flow from the varistream :)

Ez-snap from Gardiners, and protecta ball on BOTH the pole tubing and the mini/micro bore. That's how you really save your connectors.

Exactly what we use now. Also protects the end-stop when reeling back in.

I do have rubber protective balls on end of pipes( arn't i the lucky one) lol.
Problem still arises, drop connector just once and the bl**dy thing goes out of shape and back to the hose suppliers I go.

Does any one have any photo's of a better type than the 'Rectus 21 Series' Sorry Alex and everyone else, but I think they are too weak for the job. As my supplier says this series of connectors was developed for the food industry not for heavy industrial applications.

Any help as always apreciated.

i have the same ez snap metal connnectors 6mm ones,  theyre great, no leaks, they clip together really strong. The balls do help when reeling them in, though if you get dirt in them sometimes its tricky connecting up.
