You only get one life JSMC and in that life not many chances. This is a genuine chance.
My circumsatnces are that I have a 400l tank in a scudo. I have a booster pump at home that feeds a roman 300gpd through a DI (a blue cylinder) into a 1000l ibc holding tank. In the holding tank is a transfer pump that can fill my van up in minutes.
This means I do not need a DI on my van and can call home part way through the day for refills. I travel light and I travel fast. My system is hot, not just figuratively, but the actual water comes out onto the windows hot. This needn't bother you but it gives me a massive competitive advantage.

Could 'dad' make use of the van in the week? Kitting it out for one day a week is probably not on.

For a weekend job a bp is a cost effective way of going wfp then if the business takes off go for a van mount but keep the bp for awkward jobs most rounds have them

i am pretty set on getting a van if i am being honest. however can anyone show me the backpacks and explain how they work compared to the pole system. also do you need to ask customers for water all the time and how long will the back pack last etc.

what is the flow rate you all use? does it differ from each person etc.

You will need to filter the water first then use the 25ltr barrels to carry the water The back pack battery will last all day the water will need topped up that depends on the size of house as to how much work you can do
With a van mounted pole system you fill up a tank and then pump the water through the hose to the pole without the hassle of filling up but on awkward houses hose placement can be a problem
Its all a learning curve that you find out as you use the tools

Some have the hose going through the van floor to a bracket underneath or you can get a manifold fitted to the side of the van
