My machine blew up today in the middle of 3 pce suite, how do you all deal with this?

Does anyone know a good repairer in or around South Manchester?

The manufacturer is in Hertford,  don't fancy hauling it all the way there.

Any help would be good.

You need a stand by machine incase this happens.I have a puzzi200 that i use as a spotter but in an emergency i would have to use it.

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago.Managed to borrow machine from Ian Gale(thanks Ian)while my machine was repaired.Buying a new machine so my present machine will be used as a back up.

Thanks for help so far, but where do Northern folk get our machines repaired?

I cannot be only c.c. in the North West who needs machine supplies/repairs.

I have cleaned the cobbles, fed the whippets ,the pigeons, all I need now is my machine mending.

Try extracta they repair machines only took two hours for them to sort mine out it might pay to give them a ring tomorrow.Send it overnight courier.

What is the problem with your machine? If you carried a spare motor it would take half an hour to replace it if one went wrong.

Martin,  I don't know, there I was, just testing the wonderful new microsplitters for the 1st time when it just went "BANG" and stopped.

I just had a nasty thought...I hadn't extracted all the m/s after agitating.

I hope it dose'nt damage the suite....

If all you presprayed was MS then you should be ok to leave it. I expect the two MS guys will say if I'm wrong (now don't go arguing again you two ) It may be beneficial for you to delve into your machine to see how it works, after a while you can work out what is doing what. A typical vac motor takes minutes to replace once you know how. Always carry some basic tools, a spare motor and there should be no stopping you.

Littlejack, it does sound like a vac motor and I assume yours is a single vac machine. Extracta of Tyne and Wear are very helpful people and may come to your rescue.

Thanks for help so far, it is a twin vac. I am not a "fix it" type person, and water and electric would probably result in my early departure from here... if I dared to mess with it.

I dropped it at my local "vac hospital" and they are going to ring me in the morning.

This will become my back-up machine as soon as I can obtain a new one.

I know you all have different opinions but which is the best portable on the market?

I want, lots of power, not too heavy, heat, on site warranty,
and local service/parts.

Am I asking too much?  It's what you should get if your spending £2-4k

Do any of you get this from a new machine if so who..which.. and where?
