I have got a nissan primastar. It drives like a dream even when full and I have had it 3 years, not one problem. They are also cheap compared to others. If you play the dealers against each other you will get a very good deal.

Started off with a

 Astra Van, soon out grew it,

so I got a Partner,

same again I out grew that

I now have a Expert,

Should of got a bigger one .
Go for the biggest one you can afford , its better to have too much space rather than not enough

if you go for the vivaro or the primstar then i would get one without the bulkhead the reason being that if there is a bulkhead then a standard pole only just fits in diagonally from top to bottom without the bulkhead you would have a few more inches so easier to fit in otherwise buy smaller section poles.

I've never had a Primastar but I do have a Trafic.  I have had good experiences with Japanese vehicles in the past though.  I would certainly lean towards a Primastar.  I suggest the 2.9 tonne version and LWB too.
However, if you want masses of weight pulling power with more than one person in the vehicle and loads of extra tools, maybe better to go for a Transit as you can get them a bit under 3.5 tonnes gvw.

I have a cit relay, is fine for 2 man set up, everything fits in, and no problem with pole ect

Renault Trafic.

Same van as Vivaro and Primastar, only probably more popular.

Thats what holesaws are for, or wire cutters for mesh bulkheads. ;)
