pump problem

Help!
My surflo 100psi pump is running, but there is no water coming out.
A friend of mine suggested sucking on the outlet in case there is an air lock but it doesn't seemed to have helped. I'ts only about 2 months old.
Any suggestions, as I'm quite new to working with the pole.

Something nobody ever seems to mention:  Flat tanks don't have a vent in the standard filler cap, so drawing water from them creates a vacuum which eventually prevents any more water coming through unless you release the cap and allow air in.  I get round it by drilling through the cap and inserting an 18" length of 1/4" hose (making sure it's a tight fit).  this allows air in, but you don't get water splashing out.

Could your problem be a vacuum build up?

I have a flat tank with a big bung lid in the top, in the middle od that is a hozelock male connector which I fill the tank from, if I forget to disconnect then the vacuum buildup will stop the pump eventually as it can't suck any harder.

However if its an air lock they can be difficult to shift, you can think you've tried but it can still be there.  This may not help you but I also have a backpack and I connect that up and pump water back through the whole vanmount.  Never failed yet.

Thanks for your help people but it's sorted now.
I had to take the pump apart, where I found this rubber washer thingy wasn't sitting home. It had twisted a bit, and was no longer air tight.
Just put it in the right place (3 fins on the back fit into 3 slots), put it back together and it works fine.
I know nothing about pumps but it was really easy.
God I'm great. :D

Did it freeze in the cold weather?

It may have done. It was working fine and then just packed up.
It had been playing up now and again but I suppose that was just airlocks.
I thought I had buggered it because a week or so before, I was working and didn't realise the water had run out, so I was just pumping air. 100 meters of hose meant it was still coming out my end but the tank was empty.
