100% Money-Back Guarantee's
« on: January 05, 2008, 07:57:10 pm »
If you offer a 100% Money-Back Guarantee, do you get some people being funny and trying to get out of paying even when a good job has been done..

Had one for five years no one asked for money back. You must however survey the job and qualify any limitations. Great marketing tool for new prospects as you reverse the risk. You would probably give the money back anyway so why not tell the client?

No you dont! However the job has to be spot on. Its a meaningful guarantee not just a sales gimmick. Use and fail doing the job and you will end up working for nothing and get a bad name really quick. The better the guarantee you give and the higher you charge - the more the customer expects - and you had better not let them down - or else!

I offer 100% Guarantee not had to use it in the two years it has been running.  I always survey and qualify. Customer always has leaflet before job starts. My guarantee is free clean if still not happy full refund

I offer the same and have never had anyone try it on. You have to advise of any possible problems in advance verbally (if you trust or know them) or in writing (preferrably) if you think there could be a problem.

During surveys I'll give my honest opinion (possible limitations of clean, any problem areas etc.) then its upto them whether i go ahead.

I've done surveys where custys are torn between cleaning or replacing. Occasionally I've recommended replacing if they're too far gone or think results will be unsatisfactory.

If not I'll say I'll clean them and if they're not happy dont pay, cant say any fairer than that. Never walked away unpaid!

I think everyone should offer the same guarantee, I know a lot do already.

Would you pay a tradesman that did a bad job for you? I wouldnt!

Maybe years ago I might have considered it, but now this country has got the USA bug of it's always someone elses fault let's sue for compo I wouldn't want to risk it.

There's a difference between doing a bad job and doing the best of a bad job.
I don't advertise total satisfaction but I do say that if they have any issues after the clean then please call. And of a very small handfull over the years most are happy just by explaining over the phone what was explained at time of quotation ie limitations

True Neil,

Thats why its so important to advise on possible limitations.

If you quantify before starting job and offer it for free if they're not satisfied (knowing you're confident of doing a good job) then you cant go far wrong.

I think the main question of this post was "do people try it on if you offer a money back guarantee". In my opinion if you cover yourself prior to doing the job and do the best job you can you will never walk away unpaid.

All the best,
Jason.

I was concerned but it's been fine. Know I've got business when it's been between me and an other who doesn't do it or didn't say it.

The problem is it's very Fast track. That means there are lots of CC using it as a USP and of course it's not anymore so you have to make it your own if you want maximum returns on it as a key part of your marketing.

If you carry out the job in a nice, polite and professional manner even if the custy someone you could never make 100%happy they are extremely unlikely to ask for money back. You weed out the people who are going to take advantage of your guarantee at the survey.

MUrky

He maybe so busy that he does not have time to come on here.

I think Red is busy as he came on a while ago saying he was doing well.

Last I read he had had a baby and was taking things slow,

But then he had big job in London and  someone went and helped him so hes still alive..

Ive noticed in the pass that while on Fasttrack people tend not to post but return after they have done first year.

I also noticed there was a chap called Chris Bailey who is one of Anthea;s team he was at one stage giving up carpet cleaning but has gone on to higher things,
