Pricing up....from trad to WFP
« on: January 05, 2008, 01:49:42 pm »
Ive always cleaned trad and have my tried and tested formula for pricing jobs up, its simple enough and works for me.

However, when going over to WFP did you ex trad guys adopt a different pricing strategy or continue to use the same one. The reason I ask is that Ive come to understand that WFP is quicker given time, thus a superior hourly rate is achieved. So do you lower your price per window when WFP to ensure gaining new work and  give the custy a better value for money job or keep the same formula to ensure a better hourly rate when WFP?

I'd say, (but I'm not on wfp yet) is still charge the same amount per window (like £1 or £2) and then you'd have the same price, but done in (hopefully) half the time. Then you still make twice as much?

I never lowered my price I kept it the same and I kept the same pricing strategy throughout, just let your custy know that all there frames will now be cleaned as standard, plus it cost you to run the equipment and produce your water.
Wfp is quicker so it enables you to add more custy's to your round at good prices, so increases your turnover/profit.

same sort of prices, when I changed over but put up the lower priced jobs as this was a good excuse to do so. I lost a couple the other day putting up their price that had been the same for years, done me a favour.

Thanks guys; exactly what I expected to hear.

I guess that sometimes when pricing new clients that there could be a tendency though to under-price, knowing the job can be done that much quicker to ensure securing it. Maybe thats just me, always wanting that new customer; but theres so much truth in the belief that your under-pricing if you secure EVERY job you price. Which would be easier to do if you know its easier with WFP.

Why did you put the prices up?

Just using your conversion as an opportunity to raise prices or did you have a commercial reason?

Wouldnt your increased production from a more efficient method do that for you?

I am doing it too Mo as they are now getting extra services and it costs me more, i know i will lose a few more but that does not worry me at all as I pick up 10 times the amount I lose without trying to hard.

So you didnt put your prices up BECAUSE you went WFP, you put them up simply because they were due to go up?

I had not put up alot of customers for a few years now, building business ect I got lax on that, I am finally upto date with work and have a little more time from window cleaning to look into it more. So up they will go some £1 some £2 and some will not, I try and be fair and also carry on making more profit year or year and not go down.
