SORRY if these are silly questions but what size microbore hose does everyone use,and what length do i need 2 reels ,100m x2 or 100mx1 +50mx1. and is it better to have reels fixed too the van or metal free standing reels that come out the van. you must must read this and laugh,but you guys do these things day in day out. And know all the mistakes i am going to make. All i do know is i have got to go the WFP system way.Just trying to make as few mistakes as possable. So thanks for any help again.

I use 8mm microbore as there have been lots of reports of flow problems with some 6mm microbore. For two men use 2x 100m reels. I recommend free standing hose reels as you can put them anywhere you want, Luke

Go for minibore if i were you cos i know you shouldn`t get any problems,also if i was using 2 reels i would have 1 reel with 60mts on and the other with 100mts on,the shorter reel will do all the closer work ie fronts and the big reel will easily get the backs on big stuff.

Thanks Luke for the advice on this and the ro post. Is 500lt enough water for two men, i know 650lt is pushing the weight limit but would not fill to max.Thought i have seen posts before say it is ok as long as not full.But your right i dont want overload the van.

Its not worth going over your payload, because in a crash the insurance will find any excuse not to pay out!! 500ltr is plenty for 2 men for me, thats all I can say. I dont want you to come back on here in a few months and tell me off for giving rubbish advice!!! But if you have a varistream etc then you should be fine with 500ltrs.

Thanks NWH that is what i thinking.But the 8mm microbore with removable reel looks the way to go,i know it all comes down to personal choice but all the input helps. just want an easy life.

An easy way if you have a frame is to bolt 2 reels to the tank frame if you have 1,it means you don`t have any floor space taken up with reels.

I'll second that.

Just for your info though, a lot of the time 8mm is refered to as MINIbore & 6mm as MICRObore, just a thought for when you purchase.

I use 8mm x 100m on a metal reel and free standing, its run off a varistream so never had a problem.

If your using a 2 man system, then its best to go for 2 pumps, 2 varistreams and 2 reels, less likely to cause each other problems with water balance, plus you'll always have a back-up if anything should go wrong with one of the systems.

Thanks for the extra info. 8mm minibore was going to use one pump and split  for 2 reels and carry spare on van. But 2 pumps 2 varistream will that run of one battery ? also run a realy to the main van alternator to recharge the wfp battery,sure i have read that info on here before.Just made an order for the protecta-kote van bedliner kit from cleaning spot. As long as that turns up i will order all the other bits and just go for it. Has anyone used a variflo+ Flow controler and battery charger,it was on the same site and i think that looks good but is this new or just no good. Any help would be great. THANKS.

If you use one pump and split it, you run the risk of lower pressure when both poles are running, the higher pole will suffer pressure loss, running both pumps all day from one battery will hammer it, even if a split charge relay is fitted, if you have battery problems then your both out of work until its rectified?
Not 100% sure regarding the Variflo + This is the new one out on the market (past few months) but heard no complaints about it, maybe someone who uses one can let us know?
Hope all goes well for you with the  protecta-kote van bedliner and all your other bits, Just make sure you drive around with your windows open after installing the protecta-kote

Ok thanks for clearing that up,2batterys,2 pumps,2 varistream,2 reels.All makes sence really just need to be told. Not trying to be tight just trying to make things as simple as poss. When I bought my system I didnt have a tight budget at all but 1 battery 1 varistream and 1 pump is fine for 2 men. If I needed 2 of everything I would have bought it but you don't. We have the varistream at about half way so you get the idea of how powerful the pump is! And we have full control of the flow to each pole on our hips so no need for 2 varistreams! Luke

Ok if it works for you, thats enough for me.I think i have read on an here before to split from one pump and carry a spare pump.what size poles and what size brush heads are good to start with.Its all domestic at the moment but need to get town houses.Is it best to have two different or both the same size.   THANKS

I run two of everything off of the one battery, 2 flojet 2 varisteram 2 hose reels (fixed).  You just need to make sure that there is enough charge in the battery before you work.  The fixed reels are much faster if the parking is right, if the parking is wrong they are a pain in the neck.

I'd go for the smaller brushes, the 10 to 12 inch variety, the bigger the brush the heavier and when it's on the end of a pole it really makes a big difference.  You can actually do most work with a 12 ft pole, but I'd recommend a 17ft xtel, this will get you most places and is good value for money,  if you want to go higher (town houses ect).  Then get a longer pole but make sure it carbon fiber.

Lots of good advice thanks,got a good idea what i have to get,one other question what size ro unit and and di unit do i need for a 500lt a day set up. not sure static or van mount yet,it would be the same units,Please tell me if i am wrong. I think static may be best for me,and also i could stock UP extra water over a weekend as back up for the week ahead,or is this wrong. Any advice would be great. THANKS ps the Protecta-kote kit didnt turn up, due wednesday fair enough i think silly time to order,want to order all the rest this week xmas/new year out the way now.
