Well I feel safe as my 500ltr tank is baffled, next to the bulkhead and also strapped into the chassis. But how do you feel about your own tank? Thanks, Luke

Yes, but it needs strapping down again.

It's worked it's way loose and shifts about 2 or 3 inches either way depending if I'm accelerating or braking.

Could do with tightening again though because it's annoying.
Think I'll put some rubber car mats under it first, the strap it down again.

what are you like, least mine dont move, slammed on the breaks the other day and went over road (idiot sunday drivers, get this they stopped on a motorway road about to look at the map  half full and I am still here and tank still in same place

You wish Luke, it doesn't have to gain any extra inertia in order for gravity to take a hold, what's it? 650l? 40mph accident, that will be over 40000KG, (66G), even if it would be a splitsecond, your bulkhead will snap like a matchstick, and will rip the floorpan straight out, I hope you atleast secured it to the chassis, and that the straps can atleast withstand forces like the aforementioned.

You'd be hard pressed to reach 1G in normal conditions, so yea 66x that and it will move.

Only safe way to fit a tank is tankframe, and fitted around the chassis.

Quite right squeaks, why does everyone assume you'll only have a crash at high speed and with a full tank....wah!!! :

The one time of the day I take it very easy is first thing with a full tank, later in the day you can then speed up a bit

So your saying there is no difference between encap ratings, because in a head on crash your a goner anyway? Or not bother wearing seatbelts? The latest Berlingo's have a 4 star rating. You have a pretty good chance to surive even at 50-60mph. Add a 400l tank, and it's a whole different game.

Squeaky I had a head on last year at speed I am still here and i wasnt in a van, didnt think it at the time though i was going to live, I would imagine the tank would split in a high impact crash it is made out of plastic after all.
and from what you said about the way you tank is moving you need to have a word with yourself m8

Squeaky, you know you should have brought a certain make of WFP setup, not only in you have a crash does it save your life ( the tank will cushion the blow of the crash and then a nice imflatable bed pops up and you can have a nice sleep whist safe in the knowledge that tomorrow you will earn 500 + a day  ) , it also means you can charge 75 quid a hour

Maybe not in a Berlingo type thing with a full size bonnet, but in a van like mine you're right at the front.
You'd be guaranteed no legs whatever happened.

There's a steel wall behind me and the tank is well below me and strapped down.
It isn't going to leap 3 foot in the air and crash through a steel wall. :

For that sort of action you'd have squashed yourself anyway.

Mine dont move a inch. straped down to the eyebolts that are part of the chassis.
